No. Not at all. I know there are some in some places, where you have to pay to get through, but not there ^_^ And just as well, if not it would be really expensive to get through...
If you look at 1:14 you will see a big layby thing to the right shortly after entering portugal. That I guess is the old immigration building, but now you sill see Portugese and Spanish police parked there. So I guess if they were after someone they could stop traffic and they do keep an eye on cars coming in and out. But theres not usually a reason to need a passport to go through. Ive crossed this a number of times and have never needed passport. never even took cruise control off.
@delayedricochet Inside the Schengen space, the borders of all countries are open and the europeans can move without passports and police control. We can say that our borders begin in Portugal and end in Finland.

What? No border patrol stop? I know about EU, but there must still be patrol borders! Without them, it's not safe at all!

The border patrols only exist between Schengen zone and the rest of the world. Once you're in, you can travel freely from Sweden to Spain.
By the way, there are no borders throughout Spain where you have to pay. That's just the toll. A lot of Autoestradas in Portugal require paying.
