Microsoft added WGA to windows to stop piracy, now apple didn't, but really, OSX(original versions) will only run on MAC machines, so it's pointless. and the different versions (like basic and starter) are for low end machines, and HP, BIZ, and Ultimate are for high end. and Ultimate has stuff that u really don't need, Home Premium is fine

vista works fine on my notebook but for one problem. Windows vista will randomly kick me off the internet. My wireless g router works fine and my broad band connection is fine. I personally recommend Premium, although it might depend on your system. Download the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor from Microsoft, and it will recommend which version of Vista is right for your system. Hope this helps!

If your system you are building is that powerful, I can conclude that you are going to be a power user. If you want to use professional programs (Photoshop, Finale) then you would have to get Premium, as some programs do not work with Basic. Hope this helps!
