umm i play this game for year and a half and you got a mistake you dont have to pay for the game for good cards you can do noob trade or grinder mission and lord cyrian mission and such so you will have a good deck like i do becaus im place 191 in the world and i never bought the game

@DushevnaSepsa There is loot in the form of upgrades which in the end are basically more valuable than cards. A fully upgraded free deck can entirely rock the most expensive non upgraded deck in the game. New cards are fun but they don't make you better.

Is this a "pay to win" type of game? I'm thinking of playing this game but I don't want to if all the full "free to play" players are at a huge disadvantage. I'd like an opinion from someone whose played the game already please.

@Defiantclient Probably 2 weeks late on this response but I was top 100 on the pvp ladder overall with only the free deck and did it again on 3 other accounts in the top 200. In this game grinding for upgrades is WAY more important than spending money due to the fact that all cards are similar in strength no matter the cost(and upgrades do everything for deck strength). However, the more cards you have the less potential weaknesses your deck has so that's what buying more cards will get you.

@ndclub67 thats interesting. I've been playing the game for a while now and I always lose in PvP because the other players had OP units x__x so I stick with just PvE now. Even in PvE, they have huge and powerful units like Grinders and Colossus. I just end up being support with Giant Wyrms and those lava rock throwing things.

@Defiantclient No such thing as losing a game against OP units unless you are speaking of deep one or lost vigil spamming. I guarantee you that if you are losing that many pvp games it is due to other factors namely: lack of experience, inefficient deck build(no such thing as a deck that succeeds at both pve and pvp), no knowledge of how to counter certain units, and lack of upgrades. Never met a player that loses for any other reason. If I am on dont hesitate to message me and I can train you.

@animemeetsme You need fairly decent specs compared to other games of the time(its also the first game to ever utilize direct X 10). The minimum requirements are on their site but the main thing it seems to draw on is the graphics card so make sure you are up to spec in that area.

If anyone starts out and needs any help not only did I write an extensive guide on gamefaqs.com but I can personally coach you in the game and give you free cards. @Lizox2 I was free to play for 2 months(it was during this time that I accomplished great things with the free deck) In the following 2 years I ended up buying 2 retail codes for about 8 dollars each off of half.com and amazon.com. Possibly the best purchase in video game life for me due to the months of work it saved.(and if you can't afford 8 dollars you cant afford to play video games because you are spending far more than that on the electricity bill alone playing).
