This song gives me a lot of memories of August-October 2008 (obviously). I took the song as the anthem of the 08 Cubs season. I didn't realize how fitting it was until the playoffs started. I honestly didnt even realize how depressing the song was until they played it in the 6th inning of game 1 of the NLDS with the Cubs down big and the crowd depressed as all hell. It's a good song to listen to when the Cubs suck like they do this year. Guess it gives me a somber hope.

You can still be fan and not go to the ballpark, just because all of a sudden theres a boost in attendance that doesn't mean they're all all just jumping on the bandwagon. In other words, if you win then fans will show up, if you stink fans won't show up. Illinois is the only state (except for Massachusetts) whose teams suck so badly, people make up curses to explain why they suck. The Chicago Cubs have not won a world series in over 100 years, making people around the world wonder if they could play in the little leagues.

I'm a Mets fan so while I certainly don't no the magnitude of pain Cubs fans go through year after year I do know something about torture. My three favorite ballparks of all-time are Fenway, Shea (yeah it was a dump but fuck you it was ours), and Wrigley. It's a great ballpark with great fans. That oneezy guy clearly doesnt understand what it takes to be a true fan of something. When you love something you live and die through the good times and bad. Good luck Cubbies, you'll have your day
