  • I can sing all of those easily. So what would that make me?

  • @9897kanchan That is a good question. Are they all equally easy for you? If so, you have a great range! Really, the only way to tell is have a professional listen to your voice and know when you're using which part (high, middle, low).

  • Im a Mezzo Soprano :p

  • You forgot about contralto!

  • omg i cant thank you enough! every other video on youtube relating to voice range i get a different result but your video has made me realise i am an alto and mezzo soprano and i picked g great song and got into the toughest performing arts school in my state!! thank you so much i love you haha

  • what if even if I as a female still had to hit the low notes of atlo in falsetto, (as in I can't sing that in chest voice). Would I be contralto? I still find some of the Contralto starting notes very difficult. Would I be a tenor at this point?

  • @imnotsure556 I only went down to alto/bass notes in this video, so if you are using this video as a reference only, than you could be a contralto. However, it is possible for some women (few) who are most comfortable in tenor ranges.

  • @annademme My Range so far lies withing C3, and a little lower Bb2, to a high C (C5). As it stand as i know that would be the typical range of a male tenor. In relation to this my tessitura and color definitely stand out in my lower range. In Contralto apparently I still sing in head voice. But your video as very useful for finding a suitable key for me to sing in. I found much more power and wit in the C3- B3 range and I could lighter and airier in falsetto. Maybe that might explain it ?

  • I like your videos! I've been looking for these kind of videos for almost 2 years and I FINALLY GOT THESE! Simple, understandable and friendly. Keep on doing them! I'm suscribing right NOW!

  • What do you think about Male Countertenors or Female Contraltos.

  • @highnote32 They definitely exist and I have known a couple, but those voice types are somewhat more rare. And it's pretty easy to gauge even by this simple sort of test whether or not your voice is indeed higher or lower than the ranges I use in this example. Good question :)

  • @annademme I've asked because I'm male and a Countertenor and have been since I was in High School... At that time was placed in the choir as an Alto because of that. I did a few private assessments and was told that I was Countertenor. I was examined on a Soprano, Alto and Tenor part in a song and was told that Tenor is too low for me by 2 different vocal teachers.

  • @highnote32 Also, I'm underneath a Lyric Mezzo-Soprano...They added that to me.

  • Really helpful Thank-you

  • thank you ! :D
