Wow. What a cool, unique, and poignant performance. The levels that Thom Yorke and Radiohead have reached are transcendent. I think thats the problem for many listeners. You can't just tune in and tune out. To "get it" and feel it you have turn on your mind and explore the place where the song takes you. Sometimes you just aren't in the mood to go there. One day you might be and in that moment you'll get the beauty behind it.
@69hack by that theory a lot of the greatest influences of our time are "horrendous" so I disagree. I listen to their good shit. I couldnt care less what they did recently.
@pushdowntightly You guys need to stop the blinded hate at muse, I know the resistance sucks, but if you say that Origin of Symmetry is garbage, there's clearly something wrong with you

"give up the ghost' a bible concept....it's funny, a couple of days ago I just happened to read a verse about Jesus giving up the ghost. Was thinking about how strange it was to describe death that way.
Where are all the haters coming from? this is an amazing song. I don't understand why people want radiohead to be the same band they were 10 years ago, because that's not what they're about. If you want a band that plays the same shit as they did 10 years ago, listen to Foo Fighters or something, and move on because radiohead aren't going to make another album that sounds exactly like OKC.
wow that was one of my least fav performances.... I would not choose this song if I were a band giving the opportunity to play on a Late Night Show on TV.
Thanks for sharing this awesome performance. I would have missed it otherwise, as I have cut all form of mass media (with the exception of the internet) out of my life. Thanks!
Don't get me wrong I love Radiohead and Thom Yorke to death but I feel that recently the band has become Thom Yorke and Friends. I kinda feel like Thom needs to take a step back and incorporate the rest of the band a little more into the music.
Which Radiohead are you referring to? They've released eight 'official' studio albums, and every one of them has a style change. One could make a case regarding similarities between "Kid A" and "Amnesiac", but all of the songs from both albums were recorded during the "Kid A" sessions. Other than that... no other two sound remotely alike. And that's EXACTLY the main reason Radiohead is so good. They never recycle anything. They go to another place we've never been before.
they always change, and of course as a generation radiohead fan it's what i love about them. but by the "old radiohead" i meant the radiohead prior to this new album tkol. Everything leading up to and including in rainbows were magnificent, but this new record didnt do me justice
@AustinBrock Lol what is it about Radiohead that no one can make a negative comment without just being dismissed as a troll? I'm sorry.. "OH MY GOD! This song has moved me to tears and taught me the meaning of life."
@Stophocles Well your initial statement had no critique to it, sounded more like a troll. If you want to say you don't like it, then don't sound like an obvious troll.
@AustinBrock I don't even mean to just say I don't like it. This song is clearly boring and stupid and people treat it like it's just some misunderstood genius because Radiohead released amazing music 15 years ago.
@AustinBrock Of course I have. As much as I loved Radiohead's early work, how could I not? I love Kid A and Ok Computer equally. Radiohead just simply aren't what they used to be but they are impervious to criticism by music critics and the crowd follows along.
@Muzik844 haha they're wearing nice clothes because they got yelled at by colbert for dressing too immature for their age. he told them to "grow the fuck up"
@SirGeorge8600 One of the latest Muse songs was Neutron Star Collision. Considered by many to be one of the worst songs ever made. That song alone obliterates that cute comment you made. Look kid, we were all 15 at one point ..clueless and oblivious like yourself waiting for our balls to drop. But trust me kid, it gets better. Once you hit puberty you will eventually realise how fucking horrendous Muse are and you will move on to better things
@pushdowntightly or we can appreciate Radiohead and let others listen to whatever the fuck they like and ignore them. There are ten year olds that love Radiohead, there are 50 year olds that love lady gaga -- age doesn't have anything to do with it.
@pushdowntightly as a matter of fact, come to think of it, Sulk and Planet Telex on "The Bends" sound kind of Muse-ish imo. I don't like all Muse, but to say they're horrendous? Your face is horrendous.
@MrFlacid1 Muse's first few albums weren't bad at all, but the band that they've become has earned them the title "horrendous". Their last two albums have gone from bad to embarrassing.
@pushdowntightly i see what you mean now based on what he said. But still, Muse is not horrendous. They have some good work. In comparison though, I can't name a BAD Radiohead song, while I can name some bad Muse songs.
it's wonderful how Radiohead has evolved all these years... teenage pop rock, squizoid electro, and now this style is so peaceful... Hope more artists dare to work with their hanges to this point...
@chadrickash I'm sure if they saw that message, Radiohead would personally apologize to you for not remaining the same act that they were 12-14 years ago.
Yeah, totally. They should have just remade Ok Computer and The Bends over and over again. What's with all this computer stuff? And loops? How lame! Where's the rock!!?!!?!?!?!? This song is stupid and not beautiful at all. I could write better songs all day. And they would rock!!!! I am a fan of this band, but I hate this band...
@b3naan Jonny is underrated now? Since when? Other than Thom, he's the most popular member. If you're looking for underrated, you can pick anyone else in the band. Ed, Phil, Colin.
