Have you tried opening your set with the "I look like Elvis" joke? This probably shows my nerdiness but I loved the historical references, especially Darwin.
Also, have you tried taking the mic out of the stand and keeping your hands out of your pockets? Your voice and look is very confident, it might help to have your body language to match the look.
