I get it. I had Alarm Clock well before this 12 but in my mind this is still a classic and the one that Weatherall will be remembered for like it or not. Sampling has played a fundamental part in the origins of House and if Morrissey doesn't mind why should we?

No, no, you don't get it. Listen to Alarm Clock, then My Bloody Valentine. Lift of the whole riff from a dance record onto a tune by a trendy rock band who get all the plaudits.  Not saying that MBV were not good in their own right, just that they were a tad lazy with this record.

Don't blame MBV, that riff wasn't on the original. Weatherall borrowed it from Westbam, Westbam borrowed it from Gang of Four. All 4 records are great
