I heard that Lennon was outraged when he saw that in the movie and he actually threatened to sue. Anyone with common sense would know John's mom died when he was 17.

Nowhere Boy is a good adaptation ,, read Cyn Lennons book and lots of others by road managers etc ,and then make up your own mind ,rather than just take one account of the way it happened,,,,this is by far the truest course of events that took place in the birth of the beatles ,,,Back Beat is miles out and nowhere boy has a lot of exagerations ,,,they are o k films and all have some truthes in them ,,,

I'm cringing right now. There's so many movies about John Lennon and The Beatles, but Nowhere Boy is by far the best. Because unlike the guy in this movie and in so many others, Aaron Johnson gets the accent down and his humor and sensitivity without it look like he's actually trying, which is what good acting is. All these 'John Lennons' like the one in this, try too hard and just suck at acting. I just want someone like Martin Scorsese to make an Oscar-winning Beatles movie.

This was on VH1 last night, and for most of the way through this, I was thinking that there wasn't a real Lennon-McCartney composed tune in the entire picture. After all, licensing Beatles music is expensive... They did some good misdirection with "Twist & Shout," a hit for the Isley Bros. and "Roll Over Beethoven," which was written by Chuck Berry. Then finally, in the last 10 minutes, they featured a re-recorded version of "She Loves You." A good TV movie, very accurate, thanks for posting.

When they show the outside of his aunt's house, that is the actual house. It's owned by the National Trust now so they filmed it with permission. I went to all four of the boyhood homes (actually five since Ringo had two different homes) last year on a Beatles tour. The only house I got to go inside was Ringo's second boyhood home.
