  • Someone from MTV interviewing Roger and Pete is like you taking on a tsunami

  • Modern music had the same message, one word.NIRVANA!!!!!

  • Mark Goldman tries to make every interview about him. It's everything from his phrasing to his intonation. Shame.

  • PEREZ Hilton reference!

  • "This is a boring conversation" LOLZ

  • "you wanna $### me you, wanna have me, you wanna own me, im your man.. thats old school"

"isnt that the subliminal text of everything"

    "This is a boring conversation"

  • As much as I love The Who, I absolutely cannot STAND Mark Goodman!

  • I think there still are political/ecological reflections in modern music- It's just all crammed into really pretentious hipster-folk.

  • Im sure pete would LOVE to see all the young boys er sorry people into hes music.

  • What happened to "I hope I die before I get old"? Not that I wan't him to die but it seems a bit hipocritical :\

  • @colosalblack they never meant it to literally mean that.

google my generation read what its really about. but yea its like they are giving up on our generation which is really a bummer. we have ashamed the who hahahah

  • Go on to Perez Hilton. Find out whats happening, for heaven's sake!

  • rock n roll is dead

  • @MikeHirsh You serious?

Rock will never die nor will the blues, it just gets smaller with all this garbage today such as justin bieber and ( wich appeals to girls the age between 8 and 10 )

Rock and roll is not dead

    Period.

  • pete townshend is an absolute icon.

  • Bad cameraman. Not very clear.

  • This camera man sucks!

  • mark goodman sucks...grow up and get a job u jewish nob..long drawn out questions

  • What a fatuous idea-rock music changing the world. Whose world? Well, bands like the Clash did change some aspects of their fans' lives. But that's as far as it goes. And who told this guy they cane people in Iran for listening to wrong type of music? That's in line with "rock music changing the world"assertion, in this case attributing tribal mentality to a culture we know nothing about.

  • Tree Hugger interview

  • "Not Kid Rock."

  • hey! im 17 and i love rock! jimmy hendrix, santana, led zepplin, the doors, jefferson airplaine, grandfunkrailroad, steppenwolf,,,,and many many others! long live rock!

  • correction: Jimi

  • the government can't control music? hmmm

  • Thankfully, Al and Tipper Gore tried that and failed.

  • Um anybody else get terrified when he said he was going to rewrite or revisit Tommy?

  • Yes. I was like if you did that, Pete, I'd have to eat your face. Sorry, it was the first form of abuse that I thought of...Yup, that's how my mind works....I would HATE it if he rewrote Tommy.

  • I think he meant he is going to write another Album like it, which he announced.

  • I'm probably one of the only teenagers that doesn't listen to jonas brothers, miley, etc. I have loved classic rock ever since I was little.

    LONG LIVE ROCK!!!!!!!

  • Me too. :)

  • innit, all the rubbish around today...

    to live in 1960s =]

    or 70s...

    or possible 80s...

    Well not now anyway

  • @Turniphead0

Anything but the eighties man, to me it is the worse era that music has known. One of the main problems with music today is the fact that there is a lot of eighties revival going on

  • yeah maybe, that's why I said 'possibly'. but even so, the eighties is much better than any of the music around today

  • @Turniphead0

I don't know, i can only think of only about three good bands that came out of the eighties and less albums. Everything else from that period just makes my ears bleed, at least most of the stuff around these days doesn't make me wish i was deaf

  • Really? I mean seriously, today all the music is just from pop tarts pumped out by some producing machine, few of which have any standard of talent.

  • @Turniphead0

Most of it, but there is some good "underground" stuff, at least locally.

  • For me, the last great band was Nirvana. I prefer Classic Rock and good metal.

  • @crhl95 Ehhh... I'm one of them aswell :D

  • @crhl95

Believe me, you are definitely NOT ALONE. :)

  • @POPROX66 Thank God. :)

  • @crhl95

:D I HAVE FOUND ANOTHER! *High fives!...?*

  • @wildliongirl Yes!!! ahahaha!

  • @crhl95 You're far from alone man.

  • @crhl95 Congratulations for your excellent musical taste and direction to 60's/classic rock. Music of that era, which I am from (born in '53) has set the muscial "bar" in the genre. Artists of today such as you mentioned, although they have their million of fans, have never been able to supercede the bar that was set by the 60's & classic rock icons (Cream, Hendrix, Who, LedZep, etc, etc...), and become '"legends". I am counting on people such as yourself, to keep up the tradtion. Crank it up!

  • The USA and Brittan needs to keep leading the world, if not we will have big problems.

  • nice one mate

  • perez hilton. wow. gotta love pete

  • Good first question and a very interesting response. Good laid back interview.

  • Oh its the russian bird..haha

  • they are such guys. I mean that in the best possible way. would love to have about 8 beers with these guys. Would donate to their charities and wash their cars...all 100 of 'em.

  • i always like to see pete talk, he always has the right thing to say, he's so smart, which is y he is my idol X)

  • ha! i know right? you would think that he would just get up and throw it in the air or something lol

  • How can Roger hold a 'mike' that long w/o twirling it?

  • It's called age, my friend.

    Pete

  • lol there is no such thing as age :) espically with The Who! With Alice Cooper? Well, age might play a factor with him

  • and its wireless...WHY CAN'T WE EDIT COMMENTS?! lol

  • @BCK i think it has to do something about him being a lead singer in the who...

  • I know mark, and I like him a lot, but that was very LAME interview... dude... you gotta bring it with these guys!

  • Oh god, he's a Madonna fan. I may just have to kill myself now.

  • Nice interview. I lol'd when Daltrey's phone went off. But that interviewer is such a douche.

  • 20. 30. 40. 50. 60. We refill our statements. ;)

  • "Bird" means "Chick" in British( I guess)

  • Yes it does, god haven't we taught you anything, we've given you the worlds greatest comedy, music and actors, surely you should have grasp the lingo by now, he he!

  • I think Russian Bird means Russian girlfriend.

  • It sure does.

  • He's got a Russian bird? :))

  • first question was too long, he sidetracks daltry...who WAS that bloke, what gave him any right to be in the interviewers chair? he lost me. windbag...pillock.

  • Rock will change the world. This Rock may have been recorded in 1971 by The Who, but it'll happen. Soon.

  • I still think rock music can change the world but I do agree that the music today has no soul.

  • i definitely agree with pete, music today has no soul, theres noe life-changing, world-changing stuff. it isnt as much of a POWER as it used to be. it sucks.

  • Roger is the 'glue' of the band (or what's left of it). He is funny, and likes to party and laugh...makes life better. So does their music.

    Long live rock-and the Who!

  • shame the clown questioning these guys didnt keep his blurps and extended rubbish emissions to a complete minimum.

  • Pete knows it is a tribute band now. Back in '83 he pulled a Paul Simon and couldn't come up with anything for a new Who album and told Lenny "Just forget it".

  • I bet you anything that this Interviewer is a Jew, or an obedient Goy. He has the gall to talk about how Iran responds to music it doesn't like, meanwhile the ADL is Policing Youtube for "Hate" Speech, ie; Anything critical of Jews.

Also, he goes on about how Rock should "change" the world to the point where Roger has to tell him how boring he is. But when Pete mentions REAL change in the place that matters most, Family, this punk doesnt have ONE word to say, he's just on to the next question!

  • i love roger pete's all artsy fartsy and he's like "next"

  • Have to agree... seen 'em twice and when I first saw them when I was 13 it changed my life forever... thats when I decided I wanted to be a musician... and then when I saw them last night... a year and a half later... I just appreciated it even more and my life will never be the same thanks to these two men... and of course RIP John and Keith

  • im just 13 now and i never got the chance to see the who in there "glory days", so to speak BUT, im a huge fan and i saw them live to weeks ago and WOW. my god. they were still great live. almost as good as they were back in the 60s and 70s. what a freaking amazing band. ur lucky to have been around back then. if i was, i would have seen then every time they went on tour.

  • who said I was... I'm only 16... but I've still seen em twice and now I'm a full time gigging musician... that show made me find what I wanted to do with the rest of my life

  • oh well you kind of seemed like you were lik 50 or something...ya know, talking about "the old days" or whatever. no offence. its cool. and ya, i want to be a musician when i grow up too. its like my life. Is your band any good? (=

  • Seeing them live was one of the biggest things I've ever done in my 25 years alive. I will never forget it!

  • lmao! "......the 40th anniversary for Tommy, any plans for that?......um...no...." Rogers funny as hell

  • I'm not sure what Roger's whining about. Pete's dominating the conversation as he always does. You'd think after 40 years Rog might be used to it.

Nice to see someone slamming Kid Rock, the inbred hick that he is.

The gossipping about Ronnie Lane and his 'Russian bird' was really funny, though.

  • Interviewer sounds like a pedo.

God I wish The Who would tour Australia.

  • Maybe this guy is a pedo. If you really want to see a guy that looks like a pedo, check out Mr. Cropper here on YouTube. (He has his own channel.) Tell me if you agree.

  • Mister... who??

  • Who indeed. He's a real non-entity.

  • "Interviewer sounds like a pedo."

    Thoughtful comment.

  • I'm right though.

  • Melbourne Grand Prix !!!!

  • Ha! Yeah I heard they're finally getting their lazy arses down here,

I might've known it'd have to be something to do with cars. Onya Roger, haha.

  • the're coming to aussie and NZ next year!

  • Good to see they've got a sense of humour...

  • best band ever

  • "this is a boring conversation"

"i thought he was into train sets?"

    god i love roger:D

  • Roger didn't want to sit on a psychiatrist's chair.

  • I think Roger totally slammed Mark Goodman.... "This is a boring conversation." Glad he said it. Cuz damn Mark you are sitting with two ledgends.Come up with something.

  • Mark Goodman is such a lightweight.

  • Lol at Roger's Comment:

"I thought he was into train sets?"

  • "Not Kid Rock"

    lol

  • that guy's voice is so creepy.

  • "its the russian bird"

    lol
