piquedard, maybe right this might be african jazz nico, according to vincent luttman the biographer of congolese music.african jazz twice, when kalle come back europe they'wre united back it was called african jazz renove then at the end of 1962 this time on the division was for good!one we have to know is that when second siscion happened nico, roch, roger and other still african jazz as the band's name i think by couple month it was renamed african_fiesta kombo ya sika
Let's be clear! This an African Jazz' tune and not an African Fiesta's. Of course, one can wonder why Kallé's name is absent here! My guess: Kallé was already in the "cold" by the time this tune was played and as known African Jazz would explode soon after, "kicking" out Kallé...
The intertwining histories of all these bands back then can be quite confusing, and I too cant seem to make head or tail of it, but in the info, I put up the name of the CD I picked in kenya with Fiesta and not Jazz...but you do have an important point...
@piquedard It's a bit more complicated than just saying it's an "African Jazz" tune. African Fiesta indeed started out by "kicking out" Kallé from his own band. But of course, soon they were told that they couldn't do that nor use Kallé's band's name—and that's when they took the name "African Fiesta." So we have this track, whose lineup is clearly the nascent African Fiesta (spot the roll calls around 1:30 and 2:36), but they're still calling themselves African Jazz in the chorus.
