I started out playing this way when I was four. At nine yrs old, I finally switched over to the normal way. As a novelty I still play some music with the guitar on my lap. I do this especially for children (4yrs old & up) to encourage them to start playing while they are young, even though their hands are too small. Now I am trying to learn fingerstyle guitar.
OMG I saw Thumbs play this in '85 at the St. Louis Steel Guitar show where he was appearing with the great Steel Guitarist, Herby Wallace. We were in the front row! I never thought I'd have a vid of this. I "favorited" it, and I thank you for sharing it.
Lets not forget the Great Thumbs!
