I feel for the family and friends Karen Carpenter has left behind. She was born in an age just before body image was starting to be prevalent especially in the entertainment industry. It's a pity she wasn't born in a previous less image concious age. Anorexia is now treatable and that is why she is such a tragic figure. She could have been successfully treated and come out the other side. A very sad figure and you hear it in her singing. Rest in Peace Karen
I told Randy Schmidt lets go on National TV & I will tell you everything you left out of Little Girl Blue- People are really beginning to understand that this gentlemen is making money off of Karen's misfortune. Randy puts on his little suits, goes out signs books, hasen't donated anything towards eating disorders, he has even talked Karen's friends into talking to him, it's on video- However did anyone notice the peolpe who count the most remained LOYAL! Point made!
That woman Anna Raeburn is a complete idiot. Talk about supposition! And hyperbole! She's talking out of her ass. I was so irritated by her that I had to replay the first segment to find out who she was, and then discovered that she irritates people all across England as well. She seems to be known for it! Why did they use her in this otherwise good documentary?! And she's so dramatic. She never met Karen and really has no place psychoanalyzing her!
@melizmatea Anna Raeburn has this appalling talent for giving 'sound' (and terribly over-dramatized) advice based on total misreading of events. She's like the wealthy lady arriving at the opera who is approached by a ragged old man who tells her he hasn't eaten for five days. "Then you must force yourself," - she replies.
I no longer live in England so I'm spared seeing Anna Raeburn's awful TV contributions. I was not happy to see her here among an otherwise well-chosen group of contributors.
Thank you So much for posting this, I just LOVE her!! This is such a great and new look at the Carpenters and their lives, things we didn't know before. She was truly one of the greatest voices ever.. so sad she left us too young... RIP my dear Karen!!!
Great docu-video, a new perspective on their life's story, new views from different people, very interesting to see and hear. Thanks for sharing this.

I'm glad to see that the video clips, at least thus far, are of actual performances without lip-syncing. To this point, unfortunately, this documentary is perpetuating the myth that Karen died emaciated.
CN - I am gratefully amazed that you have obtained these. To share them with long term, eternal fans of the Carpenters, which yes, means BOTH Richard and Karen together, is absolutely wonderful. Very much appreciate your efforts on our behalf. There is some new and memorable footage here via some of the interviews. As aforementioned by RXTech, thank you 3x !
its a big lost for the music industry, but the media killed her . She was not happy about the way she lookes , so she started to diet, but when se became thinner people started to nodis that....en de rest is history
"The media" didn't kill Karen Carpenter, heart complications due to Anorexia Nervosa did and if you know anything about AN you would know that those who suffer it usually come from suffocating families where they have no control. When KC's therapist in New York told Richard that introspection may prove that Karen would no longer wish to sing he was so furious that he still gets angry telling the story today.
If KC had worked as a barmaid she would have still had AN.
The best singer ever !!!

When I saw Mike Walker's face I stopped watching this clip.

Why did Richard yank her out form behind the drums?
Take a look at the drum workshop from Strike up the band... THAT was Karen at her most relaxed.

Yes, she most certainly is. It's a shame that she died. She weighed 120lbs until 1975 she dropped to 78lbs.

Richard always seems to be smug about himself.
Without Karen, The Carpenters are not The Carpenters. As time has told us...
