i got a torx screwdriver it has six sides it looks like a star on the side of the screwdriver says T8X50mmand it does not have a hole in the middle!!! It wont work can you help me ASAP

You need security Torx t8 size. Be sure to buy security or the pins in the middle of each screw will be in the way

If you guys don't have the Torx T8H screwdriver, which is the torx T8 with the hole inside, so you can unscrew the 2010 version of the controller, you can take a drill bit, put it inside the screw hole, and drill it until the little nipple breaks off. If you happen to accidentally get a T10 or T9, they both work, just not as snug as the T8. You can find the T8H on eBay, Home Depot, and some AutoZones. Maybe if your lucky, on craigslist. The cheapest way is to get a Torx T8, and assuming you alr

and if you paint it and some how get paint on the gudie button you use paint thinner on a ragg in a well vented area or just do it outside which u should do anyway and dont ever use sand paper on plastic unless you know what your doing if andthing you use emeual cloth also know as wet sand paper which uses water the guy who made this video is not to bright Dont use sand paper (use paint thinner works better anyway and is cheap to buy it will cost more to fix that piece.

@guitargood3 well obviously you can clean the insides like the rubber pads and the buttons which build up dust and such which can make them stick and be less responsive over time, also you can replace your thumbpads if they get worn down and also different thumb pads which might be taller or cushioned..... those, among other things are just a few reasons you might need or want to take apart your controller....

On my controller (if I am understanding you correctly) It was the piece that the last screw went into that was making it stick. (The one under the barcode) I just stuck my knife into it and scraped it away (Spin the knife) untill it was even with the board. Actually I had to do that with a couple of controllers.

It does not take T10. You can find lots of those in a tool box. It uses T8 and you can buy them on ebay for udner two bucks each with free shipping.

oh. Maybe. i used my T8 on four different controllers without a problem. I guess if anyone is unsure of what theirs will need, they could just check their tool box. i have about five screwdriver bits in one set that is t10 and in the shapr of the xbox screwdriver. The only problem is that they did not have a hole in them, I was planning on drilling holes in them but t10 was the smallest I had. Anyways that was a pointless comment :P

so I just used a small regular screwdriver to break out the bit in the middle so my regular torx worked. A bit ghetto but it worked. Also my shoulder button wasn't working so i just bent a staple over it and now it all works fine.

That's not so easy to fix, it's more of a luck thing. You might have to get a really strong magnet and try that, but no guarantees. Or you could try to loosen it with a staple.

ive encountered a problem after taking apart my controller. after i took it apart and reassembled it, whenever i try to turn it on, the lights flash for a brief second, and then go off. batteries are full and everything else is fine. someone please help.

it sounds like your controller is shorting out for some reason. Disassemble the controller and make sure that the battery contact prongs are positioned correctly, and that there's no debris that could possibly be touching metal contacts on the mainboard.
