Punjabi can refer to different things (Punjabi>culture,cuisine,dance­) but mostly meaning an ethnic group from South Asia. Mehndi is the use of Henna for skin art. In Punjabi culture there are many days to make up the wedding, one of them being Mehndi > bride and groom get there henna art done, and relatives do Mehndi dances for the couple to wish them happiness. Hopefully this helped, though they are only my understandings.
