  • Thank you, I've been trying to find 2:18 for some time now. It's the sound of my childhood.

  • 0:10 - 0:25 made me just explode, that was AWESOME

  • @Spike20TRILLION My favourite too. When I saw it, it usually meant that I was about to watch Classic Bond (Roger Moore Bond at least). Occasionally it gave me chills.

  • Wow, guess who made, "The Beatles: Yellow Submarine"? The first two logos that popped, MGM and United Artists! 0_o

  • i wonder how many lions died to make MGM's logo

  • 2:59 works :)

  • We used to have a tape of the "Yellow Submarine" picture that UA did, and it had the 2:20 "turning" logo. I think it had the lower pitch, though. Any ideas what year that was released in, or if our tape was different because it was the UK version? I don't know how we got a hold of it since we live in the U.S.

    Great compilation!

  • the one @ 1:34 I have that ua logo on my All dogs go to heaven VHS tape

  • @PieFights Yes, that's the only one I actually remember.

  • The United Artists "turning" logo always scared me...I recently saw it at 4 am on one of the Encore stations, in the dark...in other words...the worst way to see that logo. And it's really not so bad anymore.

    Great compilation!

  • I have this on my Child's play and Rain man DVD's.

  • 1:48 was used for "All Dogs Go to Heaven".

  • I hope United Artists makes a comeback.

  • @Spike20TRILLION Soulds like it's from a horror movie LOL

btw where's the 2002 UA logo?

  • Well done montage!

  • @ 3:00 the "UA" of doom

  • Can someone please try putting together a UA history montage?

  • Great video and thanks for the compilation. I'd like to say I was surprised someone compiled these but YouTube is great for stuff trivial stuff like this.

1:17 I think takes the cake. When the screen separates and there's that ominous tone leading into UA, that just has such atmosphere that both grabs and holds your attention.

I've always liked United Artists' motion graphics, and I'm glad others do as well. :)

  • I kinda like the old UA logo the best.

  • 1:17 was on the Thunderbirds Special movie double bill VHS.

  • Cheers - I didn't 'forget' the later logos - these are from my own VHS tapes (crackles included), unlike other You Tube account holders who seem to like uploading other peoples files and in doing so, clog the site up with duplicates.

The last logo I ripped was from the 'The Living Daylights' DVD, and as a result the sound isn't as good :(

  • UA logo at 2.22 totally brings me back to the pink panther cartoon show great job rarpackmanreturns

  • @dadadruma Same with a few pre-1948 Warner Bros. cartoons. Some of the Pink Panther cartoons include the 1968 Transamerican logo.

  • give the guy a break d. ffs. lol.

  • i love the one at 2.36 i remember that on the pink panther tape

  • WTF happened to the standalone videos of these and "obsessional" is not a word. I hate how people online make new nonsense words out of other words.

  • 3:00 was used in The Living Daylights.

  • The one at 1:19 was also the opening for Child's play in 1988

  • @bullsfan0323 Note: That logo was replaced with the logo from the late '90s on DVD releases and cable airings.

  • I have nightmares when I hear this video.

  • MGM Pictures inc. All Righis Reserved?!!!!!

  • The very last one....is that the current(Tom Cruise as UA owner)logo?

It reminds me of the WB logo from the '70s.

  • No, it´s from 80´s. The new logo isn´t in this video.

  • I love the MGM/UA with the letterboxing red line.

  • The one at 2:52 was in "The Living Daylights", which is a Bond film.

  • Wow!So do I!

  • Scares the living hell out of me

  • Me too, like you're about to watch a horror flick!

  • This is really great. Do you have the original UA opening of "Fiddler on the Roof"?

  • The version at 2:47 was used in "Demon Seed" (1977) and the MGM/UA logo at 2:02 was used in "Carrie" (1976) and the version at 2:30 was used for "The Secret of NIMH" (1982), "The Plague Dogs" (1982), "Rock & Rule" (1983).

  • I like the older ones better than the ones they have today.

  • Loved seeing them together like this. Many thanks.

  • Are these in chronological order?

  • No, they're not.

  • The UA logo from 1987 (1:18-1:37) is my favorite one.

    Thanks for publishing it.

  • Where's the last one from?

  • It's from The Living Daylights DVD

  • ya from the living daylights

  • I love the MGM'S lion...LOL

  • I've always ha an obsession with that first UA ident. I don't know why, i just love it. I like that last one too, never seen it before.

Most of the bond DVDs i have, have the 2nd type of UA logo, but Goldeneye is the only one to have the one i like.

  • i say dr no had my fav

  • can you also rip the UA hexagon logo used from 1936 to 1967? Also the UA logo used in silent films? Can it be possible? Thanks.

  • WOW

  • All varying from PAL and NTSC speeds and ratios depending on the film and years. Nice :).

I actually thought the 1st ident was the original one that accompanied 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' (when was it made do you reckon?)! I got mad when it was replaced for the UE editions. It's my favourite one, classy ;).

    Thanks for sharing!

  • I once went through a pile of old videos trying to find that one at 2:18. The best opening logo ever AFAIC, pity they changed it.

  • wow that one at 1.38 has got to be the best one yet!!!!

  • This is very good. But can you find a UA logo from the early 1930s?

  • Great montage! Where did you get the old 'UA' logo that appears at about 02:18?

  • Cheers - that older logo was on the old Warner Bros release 007 tapes

  • I remember the last time you had the UIP logos on here. What happened?

  • My last account was closed - so I lost all 260 odd videos. I hadn't saved any of them (other than here) so had to re-do them. I thought I'd tidy this montage up and get rid of the UIP logos aswell as the couple of old UA Transamerica snippets I also had - certainly there are better versions of the Transamerica logo currently on You Tube, better than my captures!

    Regards

  • I could've saved them for ya.

  • Great Sound!!!!

  • Video captures seem to be far superior in sound quality than DVD. Note the last MGM / UA (a little squashed) is from a DVD - the sound isn't as good.
