idk why people hate on SRT's so much...It's more about the engine than it is the chassis... SRT makes beast motors and the Srt-4 neon can take some pretty high boost levels and can take quite a beating and they're VERY easy to work on. Not to mention you can get one for pretty damn cheap too....

Say what you will, but I have a stock srt and I have only lost about 3 races. And only races I lost were against a farenheit gti with about 7gs put in it a gli pushin 22psi plus other mods.... And a sti pushin 20 psi but all races still amazed me at how much my car kept up. Once I put the boost controll in there non of these cars will keep up. Only car that will have a chance is the gti. I've already raped plenty of gt stangs no problem let alone with $ put in it. So call me what u will

Both the 08 4.6 GT and the 04 NSRT run similar 1/4 mile times- between 13.8 and up, and with the GT weighing almost 700lbs more I'd give the advantage to the neon if you just happen to run into one on the streets. However with simple garage tuning and a few hundred bucks they'll break 12's easy. Some stock turbos are running 11's now. No disrespect to the Mustang whatsoever, the new 5.0's are a beast. But give credit when its due- it's earned it.

@firebeetlese Doesnt matter, gravel or not, when it comes to traction, its all about what sticky-icky you have attached to the wheel, 13.8 is fast... for a bug. Im not putting the car down im jsut saying dont talk trash about a car that will pulla 13.9 off of the dealership lot! with bolt ons and a quick tune it will run low 13's and throw on a larger turbo with 750cc injectors and you have a car running low 12's easy. It all about the tire setup when it comes to traction my friend
@firebeetlese Im telling you its all in the tires, there are competitive rally srt-4's out there, highly competitive, and they dont have a problem with handling, yes, RWD does have advantages, but in the long run, if you can throw good meat on the tires, then the 2.4 high torque engine will win, like i said, not knocking your car, its a good looking bug, very fast, but with good tires and a lighter foot (i.e. throttle control) an srt-4 would give you a good run

and when the srt4 switched to slick tires 1 day before there was a good rain that cleaned the track around 2 afternoon he raced and got beat by a mustang his best time once in the whole history the red srt4 has raced is 12.80 sec and around 13.3 to 14.5 sec according to the track conditions no matter what sticky you use and having big turbo big injectors etc.... thats the history here at mexico tracks.......
theres no replacement for displacement dollar for dollar you can make a big block go faster then a small block and a 8 cylinder faster then a 4. im not saying i dont like the car though but id rather get a big block... my opion

Say what you will, but I have a stock srt and I have only lost about 3 races. And only races I lost were against a farenheit gti with about 7gs put in it a gli pushin 22psi plus other mods.... And a sti pushin 20 psi but all races still amazed me at how much my car kept up. Once I put the boost controll in there non of these cars will keep up. Only car that will have a chance is the gti. I've already raped plenty of gt stangs no problem let alone with $ put in it. So call me what u will

The Stangs are my least favorite out of the three because it seems like every new teen driver gets one anymore, but these SRT-4 Neons are quick little buggers. They came straight from the factory with some great performance for the price and with a couple bolt ons will keep up with a 4.6 Mustang if there's a good driver behind the wheel. At least he didn't rice a Honda. I give him props for that. Nice car!

Both the 08 4.6 GT and the 04 NSRT run similar 1/4 mile times- between 13.8 and up, and with the GT weighing almost 700lbs more I'd give the advantage to the neon if you just happen to run into one on the streets. However with simple garage tuning and a few hundred bucks they'll break 12's easy. Some stock turbos are running 11's now. No disrespect to the Mustang whatsoever, the new 5.0's are a beast. But give credit when its due- it's earned it.

Sorry, but its still a neon!!! I respect car that has been built to make monster power, but having that much power in a neon is just dumb. With the money spent, you could have put it towards something tasteful and adult. Now your running around in a piece of shit neon where no one gives a shit how much power you make. I would be embarrassed, but I drive a 370z so I'm biased. LOL Next time, take that extra money and put it towards something worth modding, something more adult

I have a aircooled vw type 1 and always race alone but always that im making my self a slow car an srt4 comes saying lets race you fuc ing bug im gona wipe your ass and guess what i do?? turn up boost and wipe srt4 ass because their traccion sucks at quarter mille . only one srt4 guy is a friend of mine.

in the racetrack at my land im pretty shure i can beat it because there is no traction
he probably well spin when the green light comes and probably will start to move when i get to the finish line. Loose little stones at racetrack (gravilla)
And watch again the camry video i never was jumped im in the 13.80 sec range he is in the 15.86 sec to 16 sec the result is the same as the srt-4 half racetrack and beated by my beetle the angle can make it look different

@firebeetlese Doesnt matter, gravel or not, when it comes to traction, its all about what sticky-icky you have attached to the wheel, 13.8 is fast... for a bug. Im not putting the car down im jsut saying dont talk trash about a car that will pulla 13.9 off of the dealership lot! with bolt ons and a quick tune it will run low 13's and throw on a larger turbo with 750cc injectors and you have a car running low 12's easy. It all about the tire setup when it comes to traction my friend

Our lands are full of gravel that means that for now or until srt4 become rear traction i still the king at the 3 lower states.
So 770 hp worth of nothing here at my lands (loose gravel) slick tires included
For some reason the beetle handles beetter the traction and thats an advantage of an old wwII car That causes headaches to srt4s

@firebeetlese Im telling you its all in the tires, there are competitive rally srt-4's out there, highly competitive, and they dont have a problem with handling, yes, RWD does have advantages, but in the long run, if you can throw good meat on the tires, then the 2.4 high torque engine will win, like i said, not knocking your car, its a good looking bug, very fast, but with good tires and a lighter foot (i.e. throttle control) an srt-4 would give you a good run

@urgod78 what an ignorant comment, AWD has its advantages but at hard lunches, unless you are using a custom built (i.e. high dollar) diff, you are going to blow the diff, ive seen it time and time again, awd drive is great for rally/road course/auto x, but in a drag, you want RWD, or FWD with a LSD

and when the srt4 switched to slick tires 1 day before there was a good rain that cleaned the track around 2 afternoon he raced and got beat by a mustang his best time once in the whole history the red srt4 has raced is 12.80 sec and around 13.3 to 14.5 sec according to the track conditions no matter what sticky you use and having big turbo big injectors etc.... thats the history here at mexico tracks.......

theres no replacement for displacement dollar for dollar you can make a big block go faster then a small block and a 8 cylinder faster then a 4. im not saying i dont like the car though but id rather get a big block... my opion
