@Sharkpedo1 7zip is a file extractor installed in his desktop, maybe yours is different. most commonly used are these two WinRar & WinZip.

i have version 5.50 gen-d3 and I want to update to an ofw 6.38 because latest umds wont work on my psp. But it says that "the version is 9.90 there is no need to update". How can I update to an ofw? Please help! many thanks.

@nothing1more You dont really have to go to OFW, 5.50 Gen-D3 has a certain plug-in that allows you to play current UMD's. Simply Google it and im sure your find it. If you really want to just get OFW, you could try a downgrader (Dark_Alex has some) and go back to an earlier firmware and simply update to the most recent. Contact me if you need further help.

@wickybabu first when u get a memory stick format the memory stick then when u connect it to the computer it will show you the files put the ISO game files in ISO that is on top of MP-ROOT file

2 things you should mention in the video

1) you need custom firmware already on your psp to do this upgrade.

2) if you can't connect to the internet (e.g. no wireless router), download the official 5.00 firmware file, rename to 500.PBP and put it into the update folder.

just go to system update and by m33 default it will update to the latest m33 firmware. i think you can do this to all m33 firmwares but im not sure. u can be sure by going into recovery mode and then configurations.
