How do you start the program exactly? I have toontrack solo and superior drummer program, but can't start em'. Am I suppose to open one with the other?
how many pressets does this have? I wanna get this because its only $70 and how much are the expansions. Idk i might wanna get superrior drummer but its way more money.
Yes you can write any beats that you want as long as you are using it within a DAW. You can indeed use it with a mouse and keyboard too. You can use EZ drummer standalone if you download EZ Drummer solo which is free from Toontrack. This allows you to use EZ drummer all by itself. However I am not sure that you can make the crazy beats that you want to that way. It can be used on PC or Mac and can be used in almost all DAW's. I use Reaper as my DAW which is FREE!
Is there a drumming program like this where you can just choose a time signature for it to be in? If there isn't then I'm going to have A LOT of problems recording. I'm writing a song that goes from 9/8 to 39/16 (I shit you not, that is actually the time signature its in) to 11/16 to 13/16 and that's just the beginning so far. Yes, I love odd time sigs. That's why it's going to be a nightmare if I can't find a drum program like that.
@Fluffypopcicle Sure you can if you are recording with a DAW If you are using EZ drummer inside of a DAW (Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic, etc..) then of course you can set the time signature to whatever you want and create your own beats. Of course none of the included midi loops are going to be at such a unique time signature but there are 3rd party midi drum patterns that you can import that can get you started in the right direction. Otherwise, just make your own
@EvilEVOIX So you CAN write beats that are in time signatures other than 4/4? Sorry, guitarist here and total noob when it comes to music software. Can you use this program with just a mouse and keyboard? Also, what recording software is it compatible with? I have a PC and have a bassist and singer, but we don't have a drummer, and want to use this to record. Thanks in advance.
@Fluffypopcicle There's a ton of tutorial videos on here that show you how to work EZ DRummer and the software is only $69. EZ Drummer SOLO is free and so is Reaper... go do it man!
And for your kind information i had installed it a year ago and had all the drum kits ...but due to re setting of my PC i had to re install everyhting...but have just forgot how did i do that...and yeah i have the drumkit from hell expansion dll but cant do it up...pls help me.
Hi Please help me......i cant find Drum kit from hell metal in my vst. The drum kit shows only Pop/rock and cocktail set. I hve tried dozen times to find it but invain...plse sumbody help me!
@matiasj2006 You can use a PC keyboard with programs that convert keystrokes to midi. Bomes Mouse Keyboard should let you do this and send the midi to this drum program.
It sounds pretty awesome........but,slightly complicated. Sometimes More features means more time consuming & can get frusterating. Looks cool though.
If i connect my Roland V-Drums Lite HD1 to my pc with a MIDI to USB cable, can i play my drums and get different sounds, and record beats through this program :)?
does anyone know of any programs that you write the drum beats like in the program then like loop them or record like pc drummer but with this sort of sound quality?
ANYONE USE ' VSTHOST' WITH EZDrummer ? (its freeware) Can't find the right midi in/out menu... I can hear the drums when clicking in EZD but my YAMAHA edrums do not trigger EZD. midi works.... cause I can trigger rolands HD-1 drum tutor....! arrgh!
Is it easy to get a really clean dry sound off these drums? I usually like to have my beats as dry as possible, then add any effects later in my DAW as I see fit, rather than have the recordings with any kind of room effect.
@fieroturbo Absolutely, you can kill the room and overhead mics and get just the clean drums. Additionally, you can route every drum to a different channel and mix them in your DAW.
@fieroturbo Yes. Each drum can have its own separate track in the DAW. The loops are just MIDI files which EZ drummer essentially triggers through its samples (just like any other sampler would do). This is NOT a "loop" in the sense of audio loops or REX files, where the audio content is more or less fixed; it's just MIDI notes being triggered. (Addictive Drums works in a similar way)
i have ezdrummer and it works great so i bought and downloaded the dfh expansion pack how do i get it into the library and in the drop menu ??? thanks... windows vista sonar6xl .. thanks...
I'd really appreciate it if anyone knew how to map your electric drum kit to the kit on EZDrummer. I have EZdrummer and an electric kit but I'm stuck from this point on!
@guitarist6494 yeah, but you only get presets. you can't really make your own kit, but you can change the drums around on the presets. i'd suggest superior drummer. it's very similar, made by the same company, and gives you more freedom.
So is the a real drum recording thing? Or is it like a drum machine program, say, since im a guitarist and dont have a drummer / drums, i could use this to make my drums?
@ArtificialFlavaFTB2 You can use MIDI groove loops, Musiclab Drum Tools, and I think it comes with patterns already. I just want to send my Drum Tools to something more realistic in Cakewalk and I'm sure this will do the trick.
I play a style similar to Pantera, Megadeth, Lamb of God etc. but more complex and worse yet, my solos are beyond their complexity/difficulty. In the end, it takes a month of fucking Sundays to build beats to match the complex time signature shifts.
At best, these programs and sequencers will let you do basic metal riffs ala Metallica or numetal.
@Smorphine You can only drag from the far far right menu or from the bottom box where the file chosen is written in blue - see it? above the open/close grooves button. Maybe that helps.
how can i set that keyboard? My EZ Drummer has bad set keys... that means: biggest drum is not set on my keboard, some drumms has drifferent sounds: one sound on Q and other on M....
yeah, its a VSTi which means virtual studio technology instrument
VSTi's are plugins for music production programs which you would need for the host
the most common is fruity loops, which you can download a full demo for free (without the ability to save your project for future editing, although you are able to export it to a wave or mp3 file)
@JackHargreave Technically: no. The reason being - the Pod doesn't support the MIDI interface, which is required to link an electric kit to EZDrummer.
If using FL Studio (for example), you can buy a USB to MIDI cable that links the electric kit's unit to your PC/MAC, and then you can quickly interface it to the EZDrummer VST. :)
That would depend as to what OS you have - if Win7 or Vista, I suggest downloading and installing the newest ones available for the cable you have - but it should work straight out of the box. :)
Ok guys I'm a little confused about something. Can you create your own patterns with EZ Drummer, or tweak the patterns already given? I thought I heard someone say you couldn't.
Of course! It's all MIDI based :D The pre-made patterns are easy to edit and play through EZD, and you can make your own - you just need a sequencer that supports VST instruments like EZD.
i bought a korg nano pad today and this software came with it! its the perfect combination, sensibility from the korg midi keybord and customized sound from ez!
someone said there is a sequencer built in so you dont have to use midi controller..but you would have to change the velocity for each drum if you wanted to because you dont have the pressure sensitivity as you would using a midi controller...get it?
I used it for a while with Acid 6 and it was a pain, I didn't have a micro kit or a midi keyboard so it was a pain to use with just the mouse pointer, loading was too slow for loading patterns
click the "i" symbol on the lower right side of the screen, open the list titled "generator" in the details section. scroll down nd you'll find ez drummer near the bottom
can anybody tell me whats the best affordable controller for this,, he is using keyboard here.. what kind should be used? i want to invest for this...
not easy installing it. I've gotten as far as running it with daemon tools and when I click on the installer it tells me It needs to be already installed. I know it doesn't make any sense.
plz somebody help me ,i installed the program and i ran it with fl studio but it spelt that it cant find the sound files:S what can i do?? (sorry for my bad english)
is there anyway of deleting the ez drummer beat library? because i know i wont want to use present fills and beats, and it would just be taking up precious space on my hard drive
Good question, I haven't even watched this vid yet, its froze but I do want adrumprogramme to hopefully work with my cakewalk recording sortware, let me know if you find out( if u can be arsed that is lol) I'll be sure to drop you any helpful shit I get.

Dont know if it has a standalone mode. Many plugins have.
But the sheer power of it comes in when you use it in conjunction with the sequencer.

not easy installing it. I've gotten as far as running it with daemon tools and when I click on the installer it tells me It needs to be already installed. I know it doesn't make any sense.

THanks for the demo mate. Looks pretty cool to use. Not too hard. Might invest in it.

Gosh, I don't wanna spend that much money! Isn't there another way to create some nice drum loops that don't sound like crab?

Logic 8 has some nice sounding drum sounds, and is one of the best sequencers/recording programs out there.
It's not cheap, but it's a GREAT daw with tons of features, and it does have some nice drum sounds and a sequencer that's pretty easy to use.

is there anyway of deleting the ez drummer beat library? because i know i wont want to use present fills and beats, and it would just be taking up precious space on my hard drive
hackhead123 3 years ago
the beat library is just midi files and takes up barely any space on your hard drive. It's not worth the effort

Download Reaper and read some tutorials about how to open it...It's really not that hard.

Agreed. And it triggers very well with an electronic drum set.
I've got an RET Percussion drum set and it works amazingly. I have videos on my channel!
