@EleMenTalsKun I beg to disagree. Radiohead's Karma Police Piano was based on Sexy Sadie, Paranoid Android was inspired by Happiness is a Warm Gun. You should know that.
...Fuckin' Awesome song...usually if someone's got something negative to say it's because they are not happy with themselves or their life situation...it's very true what is said that "hurt-people" hurt people...think about the "Law of Attraction"...this song brings peace to my soul...PEACE IN YOUR HEAD...
wow, i see all of these comments about depression. I can't imagine Radiohead making someone depressed ( iagree with many of the comments). Their music is soo mellow and relaxing. I LOVE it! <3
@NeoArc Being influential isn't the same as being good. That being said, I actually like The Beatles and I was being sarcastic -- both bands are good in their own way. But I do believe The Beatles are way overrated and lots of things they did weren't that great. I feel that people like Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley are often overseen and whilst Beatles opened the way for bands like The Who and Led Zeppelin these two bands were (are) musically superior. It's a matter of taste, in the end.
it was this song that made me realise I can't keep going with the way i was.. because i am not bullet-proof.... after listening to it 10 times, alone, lying on a beach, i decided to break up with my then boyfriend... and i have to say that was the wisest decision i ever made in my life. For that, thank you Radiohead.
@SuperRated420 get a fucking hold of yourself man. dont live your life according to the lyrics of a song. If shes the one for you, then make sure you let her know in your own words. If not, then its nothing but good times ahead!
@SuperRated420 m8 stop feeling sorry for yourself and trying to sound like some tortured poet, this song has nowt to do wid ur ex, i kno its painful- we all been there - but cmon!! maybe u shud skip this song on ur bends album
i've listened to this song for a while now, but i just discovered mazzy star. i can hear alot of them in this song now that i listen to it again. don't care how many negative votes this gets me..
when that guitar kicks in it sends me into another world...my mind lost in each note,my body feeling each cord struck,my soul entwined within his words,it feels like im on a cloud..fucked up and high on lyrics ..anybody with me????
@STIPOWER97 Dude, YES, I swear, off of The Bends (probably my favorite album ever), one of the songs I used to like the least was this one... and then suddenly, out of nowhere, on a random day my iPod's shuffle picked it, I wasn't paying attention.... and that guitar kicked in (at 0:13 to be exact) and I just felt like my soul drowned in tears and resurrected within a five-second span. It was magical. Still no Street Spirit, but a damn fucking fantastic song.
The Bends is the best Radiohead album let alone best album in the world. It has a slow "depressing" music (i.e. this, Street Spirit, etc.) and energy (i.e. Just, My Iron Lung) and musical talent all across the board.
I was told as a teenager (I am now almost 30) that Radiohead's music was depressing, and I shouldn't listen to it so much (I listened religiously), or I would end up deeply depressed. Funny, it is the only music to pull me OUT of a depression... There is only voice on the planet that affects me to the core of my soul, and that is Thom Yorke's. Those who don't get the beauty in their music... I feel sorry for them.
@unicecorn i agree with you totally, i never listen to this music when I am depressed, I listen to this when I'm happy. I would be depressed by listening to all the monotous crap in the media and not knowing this exists
@CompanyCaller Chill, dude. Mastra is obviously trollin'. No way those two songs can be confused as the same song. It's like confusing Remedy by Jason Mraz and The Black Crowes.

@XxRfizzlexX still, this is just a perfect example of how dumb these generations are getting by the minute, i'm never gonna hear a black sabbath song covered by some new age band and go "jesus this cover is horrible" cause one should atleast be smart enough to check things like this out before making stupid remarks about stuff you have no idea about..
@Mastragat You must be a troll, it's the only possible explanation to such stupidity. The "bulletproof" song you speak of is not only a whole different other song, but it's a whole other genre...Enough said.

@ALuke9090 and the people that live in it, many of them dying of diseases which could be cured for a few pennys others simply have no basic neccesitys eg. clean water or food, im not a misanthropist, simply a realist, you live in a make believe world that we humans are doing good, but where not we cant even help but destroy our own speices.
@ALuke9090 thats just what you want to believe, plenty of animals are vulnerable, what makes us human is to blindly destroy everything around us for the short term gain of ourselves, we are truly stupid and selfish beings...

We're the only thing capable of happiness (a few rich humans) lets enjoy that shit now.
Dictators in the 20th century were no more evil than the warlords that went before, they just had better killing technology. For the same reason, Humans are no worse than other species. We haven't even killed as many as the old purple bacteria. We're less stupid, short term and selfish than any other species and (Some of us in the upper earning areas of the first world) can at least enjoy ourselves maybe we'll kill everything else and most future life will descend from us (like purple bacteria)
