I really hate to say it, but this was thoroughly horrible. The acting was hideously camp and overdone, and the singing sounded like it was being executed terribly on purpose.
Sorry you feel that way. I just think it's one generation's view on another long-gone generation - one that he has no real connection to. That in itself is informative.
I think that your support of his mediocrity is rude. Clearly you have no respect for art. People need to stop telling others that they have talent when they clearly do not. In the words of Goethe, "I wish the stage were as narrow as a tight rope so that no incompetent would set foot on it."
@AtLastOnTheGround in the words of Margaret Houlihan, "Blow it out your ear". My mother went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she has performed with many stars, & my aunt is a trained Opera singer, yes i know art. art is not defined by others, but it is defined by your heart. Sir Laurence Olivier, “The actor should be able to create the universe in the palm of his hand.” This boy sang with his heart, & made this song his own. i witnessed him sing with his heart, sad you don't have one
@AtLastOnTheGround how do you know its "not from the heart", i was there, and yes it was.he didn't push anything, what gives you the right to say "this is wrong"? you're not God. you have no right correcting this young mans performance. he made it his own. you're just sore because you can't do what he's doing. "those that can't do, teach" or in your case, critique. just because he didn't live up to YOUR standards doesn't man he didn't perform this well. and there is no such thing as "too much".

I agree with Olivier. But this is not from the heart. This is forcing emotion, it's pushing, it's indicating -- It's wrong! It's too much!
