They burst onto the scene, stuggled and had the number 1 hit in North America thanks to our American neighbors. Canadians thought it was too much too soon and turned on our Alberta band.

Hahaha I know I won't be able to convince anyone otherwise, but Nickelback is so awful. They really do not have a lot of raw talent. They have looks and a unique lead vocal, so they are able to get by quite well monetarily. Kings of Leon is much more unique and has a lot more talent (still not one of my fav. bands, but I am able to realize this).
Hey why even tray to convince anybody? Theres a thing about music that everyone experience it on his/her way! For you can be unique Kings of Leon, for someone else Nickelback and for someone can be more unique just a boy on the street who can with just 3 cords recreate more powerful feeling that any electric guitar in the hands of professional musician can.
So dont try to convince (in this case) that Nickelbacks music is no good. If it is their lyrics, or energy on the stage, or guitar riffs or even just good looks of the guys that give someone that feeling while listening their musicwell thats all you need.

I have never heard of KOL before I found Nickelback's version of this song. I went and listened to KOL's version and while I though it was really good. I still prefer the Ryan Peake version, I just love the rocky tone in his voice singing this song, I bet it would sound even more amazing if he made a studio recording of it. To me it sounds like Caleb sings it in a higher key or something, where as Ryan's is lower, and I prefer the lower rocky voices but everyone has their own opinion.
The keys the same but Nickleback seem to always have a deep tone to their guitars and use drop D tuning to get a heavier sound. Saw them do this live on the opening in of their UK in Manchester last month and it was great, although I was drunk so I probably didnt notice if the vocals were flat.

I have seen hundreds of bands live. Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Genesis, Fleetwood Mac, Megadeth and Def Leppard to name a few. Nickelback are up there with those guys in terms of showmanship and enjoyability. There great fun. I dont know how you can say they have musically decreased since their first album. All The Right Reasons spawned 7 huge singles!!! Im just saying that if you purposefully go on to a Nickelback video and start making comments like the above, you're going to get flack

Well then i doubt you have seen many bands live. If I want to tell people that i think Nickelback sucks then I will use my gift of free speech to do so. Their lyrics have no depth, their songs are chord progressions are unoriginal, and they have regressed musically since their first album. I have seen hundreds of bands live. Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Genesis, Fleetwood Mac, Megadeth and Def Leppard to name a few. Nickelback are up there with those guys in terms of showmanship and enjoyability. There great fun. I dont know how you can say they have musically decreased since their first album. All The Right Reasons spawned 7 huge singles!!! Im just saying that if you purposefully go on to a Nickelback video and start making comments like the above, you're going to get flack
