Bull shit Zeppelin is over rated! The way your describing Down is how Zeppelin was. They played weird kickass stuff. Down is like a new version of Zeppelin. You are brain dead if you think Jimmy and Page aren't good. The Stones are great but compared to Zeppelin they are nothing.
so my band was asked to open for these guys at the rave in wisconsin on november 11th, im extremely excited, but we just started back up from a long break, so im afraid we may not be ready in time
This song is soooooooooo deeeeeeepppppppp has alot of old school elements in it, I have been through alot these past years and Phil and Down just vgive me peace thank you sooooo much,Phil you are the man period...... this song touches your soul, serious buisness u will be okay we all make mistakes peace to you dude
down definily still stands far above everything in modern metal... but i miss the pace and heavieness of pantera... :( i hope phil hasnt forgotten about us who just want to headbang till the vein on our forehead pops... and also... phil, if you happen to read this.... don't hold back on the screaming, some of us enjoy getting our eardrums torn :D
i respect your opinion...but BLS?!?!?! come one, zakks a cool guitarist and all, but how can you like them better than pantera? theyre not even in the same league. the few bls that might be good get completely ruined by zakks horrible horrible vocals.
name a band that writes better songs than this band. This is outstanding music. Pepper and Kurt are amazing guitarist. Phil just takes the band on his shoulders. He did it with great musicians all along. But minus Phil Pantera was a sclock rock band
touching song, there´s no bad or even average song in this album, you can listen this record many times in day and it´s just gets better in everytime u listen it.
Best song ever by Down, i've been a rock/metal fanatic for about 25 years, it brings tears to my eyes to hear a band that can still sound sincere (the ol' boring Metallica discusion goes for most bands nowadays right!?), i've always loved the other bands the Down members play in...but Down is my fave, inspired by the great Trouble, St. Vitus and obviously Black Sabbath, maybe with a slice of southern Skynyrd, this is fantastic!
This Piece is so amazingly powerfully SAD!!! Phil will never be the same man after... This is "SADDNESS HYMN". I listen to it with tears in my eyes! Genius!!!!!
quite possibly the best song ever composed....period. this songs leaves me feeling vulnerable yet tough as fucking nails at the same time. never had that feeling before.......
how good is this song. No band these days are up too par with the Down boys. Real music layed down on 2 inch analog tape and no pro tool bullshit. All this cut and paste recording is making rock and metal music sound too contrived
criss c bon ste musique la...fuuuuck! good album ! dont know why i haven<t listened to these guys before....this reminds me of No Quarter for some reason...fuck...makes me feel like its hightimes in the maritimes
I downloaded this album when it leaked, and fucking fell in love with it, so I went and bought the album on iTunes, fucking worth every bit of cash I paid. Going to see Down in the UK, can't wait.
Yes i agree this album is twards a different direction. But you have to understand that Phill is completely clean and sober these days. It can never compare to I Nola or II A Bustle In Your Headrom. The best way i've heard people explain this album is it very "Straight Foward". It what the band wanted. A basic and simple message to its fans. About being able to let anger, harship, and greif go. In time having the strength to move on. I support DOWN 100%
the way i look at it...pantera was the best metal band of the 90's and one of the greatests of all time for that matter...Down is currently the best metal band, seeing how Pantera isn't around anymore...
i loved pantera. I had listened them at the begining of my metal music journey.
Its true DOWN will always be compared to Pantera, and thats a real pitty. DOWN is The greatest band i ever heard. Phil has changed so much in his voice. He started to...sing, not to scream. I think its the best recomendation.
I've never done a drug in my life, but if I were to ever smoke up, I think it'd be to this. I'm a practicing traditional Yogi, and this song reminds me of meditation. There are few songs you can literally mentally trip out on.
I had the album on the other night while driving and you this song just chills you... spot on about the reference to meditation!!
DOWN are SUCH an under-rated band they have and always will be compared to Pantera. Which is sad because Down are a completely different band in every sense but are also simply awesome. But Pantera are also kings :D
Saw Them In Toronto not too long ago, fukkin wicked as expected, audience was great the whole place filled with pot smoke, I was stoned as hell but Phil still claimed to be the most ripped mother fucker in the building, smoked a joint on stage towards the end. DOWN owns, the only good fuckin hard rock/classic old school but still heavy as shit metal... Burn on Brothers \m/
i like to see that at least 2 ppl from pantera are still doing good, rex and phil, vinnie is cool but hell yeah fuckin sucks its fuckin a novelty one shot too hyped band that will never be as good as down. downs music is probley the best out there now.
Yes, I've been stressed out like a motherfucker all day and the first part of this tune chiled me out totally. What would life be without bands like DOWN to save your ass huh.
Totally true man. This is probably one of my three favorite songs of all time. Reminds me of driving down an empty I-95 at sunset, just blowing past all of life's cares. It's a new classic, they'll be playing a vinyl cut of this on the radio in 30 years.
I like phils singing a lot better than vinnie's... But seriosuly, they should have let pepper keenan have a little of the vocal duty on this album. Great album though, My favorite down album so far.
I was still listening to Down II alot when I got this album. On 1st listen it didn't grab me as much but after a heraing all of the tunes several times I'm completely sold! This is a great track as is "3 Suns .."
best song in that album. i'm getting used to the new phil's singing style , at first he sounded to me like a little cornellish but i'm getting used to.
i dont know why people still complain about nu metal. it died out like more than 5 years ago. yea a few of the bands still exist, but didn't you get all your hatred out in the 90's? christ people move the fuck on, its over, its done with, just shut the fuck up.
WTF is this... no quarter??? Every single band from the old school has officially sold out. Be sure to pick this one up from Walmart before the sale ends. Nevermind, it will be in the 99 cent bin soon enough. That's also where it can stay. Down I holds it value. This shit is disposable.
your right brother down have it they are amazing this song reminds me some pink floyd im goin to their show this sunday the 28 october at metropolis montreal
I have already heard Pink Floyd. You can't turn on your radio, go shopping or step into an elevator without hearing Pink Floyd right alongside Cher, Bono and the BeeGees. This shit is flacid, watered down and has no heart... or soul for that matter. I'm glad that Pantera ended when it did. Otherwise they would have just ended up sounding like new Metallica/Limp Biscuit/HIM. R.I.P. Dime, I'm glad that you didn't have witness this.
thats just ridiculous. there are bands that have sold out like, as much as I hate to say it, Metallica sold out after the Black Album...but to say Pantera would have been like other bands is fucking retarded. Pantera would still be top metal band and maybe would have kept Metal what it was. I hate these Nu-Metal bands, becuase they try to be Pantera and Metallica and Anthrax or whoever and just doesn't work
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I guess you didn't hear "The not so great Southern trendkill". That album could have been better but at least they made up for it with re-inventing the steel. I liked that album and I don't care who knows. This Dow III shit is a bland and generic as it gets though. It's fucking aweful
This song is orgasmic. I have all three albums and I still can't get enough of DOWN! I'll going to see them nov. 23 at Santa Monica Civic. -Fuck Yeah!
the fucking show in toronto, was excellent, all but a few mishapps, but otherwise great and got a guitar pick for my efforts, the movie was great, old LIVE videos from the 70's that the band grew up listening to like KISS,LSD,ROBIN TROWLER,TED NUGEND,AC,DC,BLACK SABBATH,KEEP IT HEAVY DOWN RULES,RIP DIME.
The show in T.O. was shit! I was at the show in Detroit a couple days before the T.O. one and there was no comparasson. Phil even kept saying on stage at T.O. how boring and shitty the crowd was. Rock and Roll... Eat Pussy!
Damn amazing what Phil can do when he is sober. I bought this cd the day it came out and I was like "man, I hope I'm not disappointed". I didnt think it would be as fucking awesome as it is and this song is absolutely incredible. It is not hyperbole for me to say that this is one of the greatest songs ever recorded.
bought this album the day it came out and its the fucking shit all of it phil fucking rules and the song mourn is the shit long r.i.p dimebag i hope down keeps going forver
I love this album and all, but i feel the death of Dimebag influenced this album alittle much. I'm not saying forget, but live on. Almost like what HallYeah(vinnies band) did.
So let me get this straight...you expect a longtime bandmate and a f*cking brother NOT to be influenced by Dime's death. What f*cking planet are you from? Maybe if Dime had been an a**hole they wouldn't have been so affected, eh? Christ man, I think you just made one of the lamest "observations" YouTube's ever seen...and that's a sh*tload of competition.
I heard this at the king of tunage (jake vandall)'s spot and it sends me back to no quarter and planet caravan in downs glorious return and on a personal tone im glad phil is "sober as a judge" and down was finally able to rise up
Apparantly it's just an evening with DOWN! A 1 hr movie as the opener then 2 hours of DOWN. Can't wait! These are the gigs I dig the most...The real shit!

WTF is this... no quarter??? Every single band from the old school has officially sold out. Be sure to pick this one up from Walmart before the sale ends. Nevermind, it will be in the 99 cent bin soon enough. That's also where it can stay. Down I holds it value. This shit is disposable.

Such a mixture...jesus! We need more bands like this!

your right brother down have it they are amazing this song reminds me some pink floyd im goin to their show this sunday the 28 october at metropolis montreal
davidallandime 4 years ago
I have already heard Pink Floyd. You can't turn on your radio, go shopping or step into an elevator without hearing Pink Floyd right alongside Cher, Bono and the BeeGees. This shit is flacid, watered down and has no heart... or soul for that matter. I'm glad that Pantera ended when it did. Otherwise they would have just ended up sounding like new Metallica/Limp Biscuit/HIM. R.I.P. Dime, I'm glad that you didn't have witness this.
wehatethisplanet 4 years ago
thats just ridiculous. there are bands that have sold out like, as much as I hate to say it, Metallica sold out after the Black Album...but to say Pantera would have been like other bands is fucking retarded. Pantera would still be top metal band and maybe would have kept Metal what it was. I hate these Nu-Metal bands, becuase they try to be Pantera and Metallica and Anthrax or whoever and just doesn't work

I guess you didn't hear "The not so great Southern trendkill". That album could have been better but at least they made up for it with re-inventing the steel. I liked that album and I don't care who knows. This Dow III shit is a bland and generic as it gets though. It's fucking aweful

It is not hyperbole for me to say that this is one of the greatest songs ever recorded.

bought this album the day it came out and its the fucking shit all of it phil fucking rules and the song mourn is the shit long r.i.p dimebag i hope down keeps going forver
csdogg07 4 years ago
I love this album and all, but i feel the death of Dimebag influenced this album alittle much. I'm not saying forget, but live on. Almost like what HallYeah(vinnies band) did.
InvertedCruxXx 4 years ago
So let me get this straight...you expect a longtime bandmate and a f*cking brother NOT to be influenced by Dime's death. What f*cking planet are you from? Maybe if Dime had been an a**hole they wouldn't have been so affected, eh? Christ man, I think you just made one of the lamest "observations" YouTube's ever seen...and that's a sh*tload of competition.
