We( Ex YU) had one of the best teams in our history, we beat Denmark in both qualification games. Not even qualified and at the end this great team won the cup..Even e bigger sensation than Greece 2004..Since this victory I am a big fan of Denmarks team..Awesome!! I love and loved this triumph of Denmark's team... I think it was better than Germans. But I think that Denmark was a little helped by the referee in the 2 goals. Watch the video. At first goal it seems like denmarks player commited a foul against german defender at the top of the video. Then, at second goal I saw that Vilfort took the ball with his right hand and this could be considered as a foul. He could controled the ball with this motion and well, finally we know the story.

It really is a fairytale. So much fortune involved, besides deep commitement and skill in crucial situations. The catch from Schmeichel at 8:26 is insane! And lady luck certainly smiled on Denmark in this game. Both goals should have been disallowed. First Povlsen is offside, and second is a handball by Vilfort.
But Vilfort really earnt it!

Yep, you are so right. Holland and Denmark are small european countries which do extremely well in football, even though they are "tiny" countries.. Copenhagen and Amsterdam are pretty similar cities too, i felt like home when i was in Amsterdam

Well, I am Dutch. They won from us in semi's and we thought they deserved it. Sad, but it got better them beating Germany! In general, Dutch tend to support Denmark when Holland isn't there. They look a lot like us. In 1986 they were refered to (and I am not lying) as "our guys" as so many played over here and all talked perfect Dutch, played "totaal voetbal". Everything focussed on Denmark in Mexico. So now we meet them again. Let's hope we both will pull through!

@connaught2008 t i dont see it as the ideal place to go for a holiday. The climate is tricky ( you never know what you get) so you might get here and its cold and rainy for your stay. The danes are friendly and polite people but not as open to strangers as say south americans. The most remarkable thing about denmark is probably our beerdrinking culture and our bikes. There is usually alot of cultural events n Copenhagen, but we dont have anything epic like the pyramids or the sistine chapel

Holland is nice country cus they love Jari Litmanen there and they have a lot of nice players (like Wesley Sneijder, Frank de Boer, Ronald de Boer, Ruud van Nistelrooy etc) and Denmark is of course nice cus they are no bigger country than Finland, and they still play very well...but Germany is just a huge country with not that nice players.
I really love this game and remember it so well, Scmeichel was incredible and anyone else in the world in net and Denmark may not have won it, and it was great to see Jensen score that unbelievable goal as he was ridiculed for his bad shooting before the game
No, we played pretty defensive counter-attacking football. All trademarks of the vibrant 1986 team were far gone by the time this championship came about.
No, the ball touches his cheek or chin. I've seen many different camera angles of this goal, and I can assure you that there is NO hand ball, even though it really looks like it. Thank God for Vilfort's face! :-)

Well, Flemming Povlsen is offside as the ball is tackled to him. The ball comes from a danish player, thus Povlsen is offside.
I still think it looks like handball, @09:25 , but it is a little difficult to see clearly on this vid.
But yes, the germans don't protest wildly, and if he handballed I guess they would have. No disrespect to your victory. :-)

@connaught2008 t i dont see it as the ideal place to go for a holiday. The climate is tricky ( you never know what you get) so you might get here and its cold and rainy for your stay. The danes are friendly and polite people but not as open to strangers as say south americans. The most remarkable thing about denmark is probably our beerdrinking culture and our bikes. There is usually alot of cultural events n Copenhagen, but we dont have anything epic like the pyramids or the sistine chapel

Not really. Holland is nice country cus they love Jari Litmanen there and they have a lot of nice players (like Wesley Sneijder, Frank de Boer, Ronald de Boer, Ruud van Nistelrooy etc) and Denmark is of course nice cus they are no bigger country than Finland, and they still play very well...but Germany is just a huge country with not that nice players.

I really love this game and remember it so well, Scmeichel was incredible and anyone else in the world in net and Denmark may not have won it, and it was great to see Jensen score that unbelievable goal as he was ridiculed for his bad shooting before the game

No, the ball touches his cheek or chin. I've seen many different camera angles of this goal, and I can assure you that there is NO hand ball, even though it really looks like it. Thank God for Vilfort's face! :-)
