The black smoke is leftover fuel. In a normal application trucks might smoke a little under load if they cant burn all the fuel, but high performance diesels are specifically tuned to overfuel. The excess fuel helps cool the engine and keep the EGTs down. If that car ran that much power without smoke, the pistons would probably melt
