simple truth is and was,the western germans could buy anything they wanted and needed,no need to repair or maintain something,the eastern german on the other hand,had to live with what they had and therefore became quiet sufficticated in repair and maintaining ,toss away culture (west) vs how i make it last culture (east)

Which is why I'm planning on vacationing to Germany in a few years once I have the money for it, and stay a month possibly travel the country to make sure that I actually enjoy the country even before I move - dont want to make the mistake of moving there and end up hating Germany. I'm thinking about the east side of Germany? Like Liepzieg maybe idk... I would have to find any distant relatives first before making a crucial decision

in 2013 the largest medieval festival of europe takes place in landshut, it´s called the "Landshuter Hochzeit" (landshut wedding in english) landshut is also a very beatifull town, with lot´s of medieval buildings

Germany appears to be more united than the U.S. It always makes me laugh when people say they hate Americans because of xxxxxxx.The U.S. is like 20 different countries with a central leadership that 70% of the population disagrees with and the rest hate.Germany has faced the worst. times imaginable and rebounded with dignity.

Greetings from the USA. I have to say that I agree with the East Germans. I also find the West Germans to be arrogant. In a nutshell I have dealt with both East and West Germans and I have to say that I like East Germans far better! Then again it could be a regional thing. For example East coast /West coast in the USA and Canada. If there were any sense to that divide the border would run north and south and not east/west.
