The Beachview area of Pittsburgh has some of the steepest graded streets in the world. Just google CANTON STREET oly a few blocks away. This street was cobble stone at one time which made the ice skating more fun. Oh by the way ---GO STEELERS!

The original video shows more cars that crashed but the cameraman was so awful he missed the shot on many of them. We only see the ones he got with this video.

And just to be fair, i watched the kdka truck slide down my street sideways and just missed a pole and a few parked cars last wendsday the 13th, cause as usual the street wasnt plowed. it was funny but would of sucked for the people that park on the street, i.e. me

@doomer192 That's not quiet what I meant. On a hillside street like that, this is what happens during freezing rain. City workers cannot be on every street at the same time to fix it.

I was just replying to a comment about "calling somebody".

Some people are so incredibly helpless, any slightly freaky weather means the end of the world for them.

One does not need the mayor's permission to block such a street in these conditions -- just get off your ass and do it. I'm sure they did so eventually.

@dmitriy40 i agree 100%. there was nothing any one person could of done but common sense should of kicked in to the drivers that hey, the roads are icy, better not go down that hill. if they had gone on the designated route they would of been fine, the snow route was wet, not icy. the other factor is that there is no stop signe up there, i think its a bit far back from the crest, so they should of been more careful
