Sgt Pepper is over rated as a concept album and has some turd songs on it, Revolver is a far superior Beatles album...Days of Future Passed is a georgous, lush album of sheer beauty and originality and as such superior to Pepper...
Screw the Beatles, I'm sick of their over hyped everything, getting accredited for tons of things they didn't create. Beatles were just a washed down version of everything else, that's pretty much it. Moodies by a landslide!
Quit dumping on the Beatles, you retards. The orchestral arrangements here a good but songs are not well developed. Most of them remind advertising jingles of the day. Don't hold your nostalgia as measure of good taste. Amateurish singing, too.
Justin stands head and shoulders over most dedicated artist/songwriters and the message is usually lofty and profound. i guess this music saved me from attending " the head-banger's ball " et al .
"The Moody Blues",The Greatest Band of Musicians and Composers of combining rock, jazz, classical & blues. This Band was WAY ahead of their time. The Beatles and others were a bunch of copycats that people bought in to.
Not just an album for me either. My younger sister gave it to me for Christmas--forgotten the year...She's gone now. But hearing this music brings back those so dangerous '60's and the musical greatness to follow--this is a symphony.
Wish the whole album was featured here, but I am glad some of it is. My father used to play this album so I would go to sleep, and when I was in the hospital, he made a cassette for me. ALot of good memories with this album.
I first learned of this album in 1970, having found the single 'Tuesday Afternoon' in a box of throwaway promo copies at a local radio station. I searched almost two years for the album, which in that particular time frame, was very hard to find. Plus I was only 13. I found the album in March 1972. My father died that same night. However, the album was reborn, and was at the top of the charts months later. More than just an album to me. More like a message from beyond
majestic album... the songs are patient and develope in their own good time... everyone contrubutes tunes that are deadly consistent with the corresponding time of day, and not a dud in the batch. forget Sgt Pepper, it has some horrible songs on it... DoFP is a far superior concept album, and much more groundbreaking, and more introspective. one of the best albums ever recorded. Lovely to hear them again, my friend.
I know this will date me but, if you play the cassette of Days of Future Passed the end of Nights in White Satin ends with the symbols; turn the tape over and The Day Begins is like the reverse of the symbol. Which is the reason why there is some dead air at the beginning.
Breathe deep the gathering gloom Watch lights fade from every room Bedsitter people look back and lament Another day's useless energy spent Impassioned lovers wrestle as one Lonely man cries for love and has none New mother picks up and suckles her son Senior citizens wish they were young Cold hearted orb that rules the night Removes the colours from our sight Red is grey and yellow, white But we decide which is right And which is an illusion

Had this album, but some idiot lifted it. It was our favorite album by our favorite group The Moody Blues. Fantastic post, but there's part of it missing. I'm was waiting for the part "Live all you people".

Possibly one of the best 3 albums ever. Slightly after "Pepper" and "The White Album."

Moody Blues - one of the best, and sadly, one of the most underrated artists of our lifetimes. :')

Nice, but you edited way too much out of it. I really like the orchestral parts. Great album that will never be surpassed though.....

Cold hearted orb that rules the night Removes the colours from our sight Red is gray and yellow, white But we decide which is right And which is an illusion.
Pinprick holes in a colourless sky
Let insipid figures of light pass by
The mighty light of ten thousand suns
Challenges infinity and is soon gone
Night time, to some a brief interlude
To others the fear of solitude
Brave Helios, wake up your steeds
Bring the warmth the countryside needs
