One of my favorite stories Jesus told was the tale of the prodigal son. I love how Jeremy ties it into the video. This should give of us all faith that no matter what we do, no matter how bad we think our sins are, our Lord will forgive us, love us, and save us.
My church class made us listen to this song, and honestly if I listened to it outside of class I wouldn't have thought of it as a religious song. I guess some people think that god will take us back, and forgive us, but that wasn't the kind of vibe I got. Yet every comment has something to do with god or Jesus. I just can't really see where they got that from.

I may get roflstomped by the many devout christians, but I myself am not quite christian. But I do quite enjoy some of the bands that devote themselves to god, including this one. Amazing song!
All the hope this world needs is shown in our young Christian musicians. The songs they write touch the soul and reveals the deep spiritual faith-life they are living. We live in a dark world but they are reflecting the light of Jesus.
I imagine one of my children walking away from my protection, love, grace and mercy and decided to do their own thing. I know that I would pursue them until the end of time attempting to keep them as safe as I could in spite of themselves. I would not care if they hated me for it. I stop and think of a God that pursues us in same way when we walk away.

Praise God, he found the Lord 3 weeks before his death. The bible says we should not put a stumblingblock before our bros. and sis. in Christ. Woe unto those who causes one of God's children to fall! You do not know who will use this ad as an endorsement to continue in sin and drunkardness.

No the case is not closed. You were twisting scripture to try to imply that it says something that it doesn't. And I think it's safe to say that anybody honourable, who worships God could be called a good sevant of the Lord. Yes I like jeremy camp. Yes I think vodka commercials are inappropriate on a video clip highlighting the abuse of it. But that doesn't get you off the hook. Be honest or don't expect to be taken seriously while trying to throw your weight around.

As for prov 31, old wine was used for pain medications.

We see that the Jews did this for Jesus before going to his execution on the cross. Paul tells Timothy to drink wine for his stomach ailments. In the right context fermented and nonfermented wine is good for the body. Unfortunately, there are weak people who after drinking their first glass become as Proverb 23 warns about....an alcoholic. Prov. 21:17 & 20:1, Isa 65:8

I can now say that I have found my way home to the LORD and have seen great changes in my life in the short time since I have repented and ask GOD to take control of my life and lead me where he may. I thank GOD for all of you that have prayed for me. I pray that the LORD bless each and every one of you.

I may get roflstomped by the many devout christians, but I myself am not quite christian. But I do quite enjoy some of the bands that devote themselves to god, including this one. Amazing song!

I imagine one of my children walking away from my protection, love, grace and mercy and decided to do their own thing. I know that I would pursue them until the end of time attempting to keep them as safe as I could in spite of themselves. I would not care if they hated me for it. I stop and think of a God that pursues us in same way when we walk away.

@elenore9 My step dad was from a Lutheran family who believed in drinking wine and giving wine to their 13yr old for supper. 35 years later, he died from liver cancer due to his alcoholism. Praise God, he found the Lord 3 weeks before his death. The bible says we should not put a stumblingblock before our bros. and sis. in Christ. Woe unto those who causes one of God's children to fall! You do not know who will use this ad as an endorsement to continue in sin and drunkardness.

No the case is not closed. You were twisting scripture to try to imply that it says something that it doesn't. And I think it's safe to say that anybody honourable, who worships God could be called a good sevant of the Lord. Yes I like jeremy camp. Yes I think vodka commercials are inappropriate on a video clip highlighting the abuse of it. But that doesn't get you off the hook. Be honest or don't expect to be taken seriously while trying to throw your weight around.

@elenore9 Proverbs 23:29-33 speaks explicitly about the effects of fermented wine and about those who drink the wine. In John 2:10, the term well drunk in the greek is 'Methuo' meaning drunk to the full to the point of being satisfied. Jesus did not contradict his word by throwing a drunken feast. The bible warns about drunkards having a place in the lake of fire. Scholars agree that the 'new' wine drank in biblical days were nonalcoholic. As for prov 31, old wine was used for pain medications.

And did I ever recommend a drunken feast? And 'scholars' say all kinds of things. And new wine? Wine ferments and breathes. That's why Jesus uses the anology about putting new wine in old wineskins. You are trying to claim I'm promoting drunkedness because the bible EXPLICITLY says that there is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol. I am not. You're twisting scripture.

@elenore9 Jesus speaks of the universal practice of putting “new wine” in new wineskins to avoid the loss of the wine if and when it fermented and the old bags already stretched to the limit would burst (Matthew 9:17). This presumes that what they put in the bags was not fermented or intoxicating. But he calls it neos oinos (new wine). Manifestly, then, oinos can speak of a non-fermented wine.

@Conservmom ??? New wine stretchs the new wineskin as the wine breathes and ferments. An old wineskin has already gone through that process. Put new breathing wine in it and it will burst because it's already done it's stretching and curing.
Put grape juice in a new or old wineskin and nothing is going to happen.

@elenore9 Read Proverbs 31:6 "Give strong drink unto him that is READY TO PERISH, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts." We see that the Jews did this for Jesus before going to his execution on the cross. Paul tells Timothy to drink wine for his stomach ailments. In the right context fermented and nonfermented wine is good for the body. Unfortunately, there are weak people who after drinking their first glass become as Proverb 23 warns about....an alcoholic. Prov. 21:17 & 20:1, Isa 65:8

I have never glorified being a drunk or suggested it was acceptable. Wine is not a problem. You are trying to claim that it is. And you left out verse 7 - to drink to forget their poverty and misery.

@elenore9 My whole point is no person starts off drinking a glass of wine and says in their heart I want to become an alcoholic. •A staggering half-a-million US children aged nine to 12 are addicted to alcohol. •Just under 13.8 million US adults have issues with alcohol, and 8.1 million of them officially suffer from alcoholism. Wine is an issue in many of these families and the church should not ignore the facts.

since first posting to this song I have repented and asked the LORD to forgive me of my indiscretions. I have found a church that I am in love with and a new family in the congregation. I can now say that I have found my way home to the LORD and have seen great changes in my life in the short time since I have repented and ask GOD to take control of my life and lead me where he may. When you decide to take jesus back he will rejoyce over you like no other. Now can how long can you wait to make jesus happy? He is the good shepard and you are a lost sheep he is looking for you.
