13 steps for anything, drugs immediately come to mind for most because of 12 step programmes. the 13 step is that final push of the envelope where you have gone that extra bit. Weak and powerless might be a song about drugs for some but for others it's just a great song and others it's a love song or whatever. I'd account it more towards human nature and the need to fill that hole even if you have had you fill. Think for yourself and whatever makes you happy is your opinion.

It isn't necessarily about an addiction to drugs only...It is about a need or craving for something to fill a void...anything, whether it be drugs, alcohol, love, etc...Maynard describes the meaning behind the video and the lyrics very well in the commentary on the Amotion DVD...If you ever get a chance to view it, I'd highly recommend it...There is commentary for Judith, The Outsider, 3 Libras, Counting Bodies Like Sheep...It is very enlightening :)

This song is about heroin addiction, shooting up is often referred to as "chasing the dragon" hence the lyric "throw another dragon down the hole" This song articulates the hold that heroin can have on a person.

This song indeed is about trying to fill the "void" with anything that you can feel. MJK describes it as dealing with the lower chakras. I really love this entire album.

JMK is the lead singer of Tool. I believe one of the guitarists was doing a side project and needed a singer. Not sure but I think that's how Maynard got into APC. Again, not certain, but I believe Maynard is taking an indefinite hiatus from APC to focus on Tool. Hence the Tour and the rumored album. At this point it's unclear whether or not he'll return to working on any APC material.
