To all haters- find me one scientific fact that says that inserting a transgen into a crop makes it dangerous to a human organism. I mean a real scientific paper. Not some alterglobalist bullshit story from You Tube, not a pseudo-scientific paper that has na test gropup. I mean reall biochemical and genetical theories. I study biotechnology for three years, I made my own GMO, and I never found one.

There's zero quality evidence that GE crops are dangerous, not even plausible mechanism for how that could happen, not a single instance of anyone ever being hurt by a GE crop, and plenty of studies that have found no evidence of harm, yet a vocal bunch of people who wouldn't know a telomere from a transposon complaining about something they don't understand and scaring others. The Dunning–Kruger effect strikes again. I've also done a bit of study & have made GE plants :)

"Golden Rice" is a classic example. Foods like these have been consumed for decades and show benefit, despite skeptical analysis. Eventually, we all have to trust someone. My suggestion is simple. Try not to be biased when examining claims. .. is it good? is it bad? .. certainly biotechnology can be USED to cause harm, but equally it can be used to save lives. Pharmaceutical Insulin H, for example saves lives, and is a product of biotechnology.

Frankly, the issue is far to complicated to be hashed out here. We cant criticize an entire field of scientific technology based on the reputation of one multi-national companies reputation & the marketing appeal of "organic" or "free-trade" agriculture. The benefits (and better yet, the potential) are undeniable, however it IS reasonable to question: are there health costs? Globally, unbiased medical organizations, agriculturists, scientists and other persons evaluate GM foods independently.

It is interesting that Monsanto is a common theme to these promos. Granted they have a dirty past, even when a portion of the accusations hold; however, are we as a race, truly willing to defame an entire industry, an entire technology, and an entire process of intelligent engineering? Bear in mind, "Organic" produce is a marketable product as well, but it doesn't offer the potential of GM technology. What Does primary literature support? Media is unreliable and is not a means to research.

I am skeptical. Today, I am under the impression that, with the vast majority of the worlds agricultural produce being now genetically modified, it is inevitable for people in the first world to eat without consuming the products of the Biotech sector. With patent protected biotechnological advancements, only few companies are able to profit from this advancement until they expire. yes, the profits are enormous; however, unless i see causation demonstrating harm, i cant deny benefit of GM food.

The main reason why many people in Africa are suffering from hunger is not because of the lack of food production, but because of distribution problems. Biotechnology isn't gonna help solve this distribution problem. There is no sound evidence biotech/GM crops increase food yields. We have to look at the right solution to this problem of hunger. We must improve distribution channels of the food, not production of food. GM crops only benefit the large biotech industries like Monsanto, not us!!!

The question is, How long have they been studying the effects of GMO foods? 10 Years? 15 Years? What age were the patients? How long have the patients been eating GMO foods? I know it is approved; one of the workers for Monsanto works (or at least used to) for the FDA. I didn't mean to be so harsh in my previous comments, but I don't believe there has been sufficient research on GMO foods. It has been shown to decrease the size of internal organs when studied in mice, and a woman tried eating GMO foods as an experiment. She had terrible digestive distress, among other things. Anyway, I buy and grow my plants organic, but know people can make their own choices.
