For years I have found this to be the most beautiful love song and Edith Piaf the best interpreter. I have heard in different languages, by different singers--no one can excel Piaf in interpretation, style, voice and sentiment.

man this just touches my soul you know? it just connects with all my thoughts and feelings for that special person in my life that I feel so much for even if they don't know it, or don't feel it, or will never feel the same but this song translates how eternal love can be for someone when you truely love them!

@GloriaMia That's a song dedicated to the French boxer Marcel Cerdan, her lover (he was married with children) who she said was the love of her life. The lyrics are hers but not the music. She first sang Hymne à l'amour in 1949 I think , a month before Marcel died in a plane crash when he was on his way to visit her.

i think they show the ending of that concert that is mentioned in the info box, in the film. i think it is the scene that takes us away from her finding out about Marcel's death. I have to say it's one of my favorite scenes in La Vie En Rose. not to mention that i cry every time i see it. it's performed so beautifully.

And yes this is Edith ( for those who have a doubt ) I would like to speak better english but : La video est remarquablement construite, les images illustrent parfaitement le sens profond et très mystique ( comme souvent chez Piaf ) de cette chanson, la cathédrale très minimaliste pourrait être Notre Dame de Paris, les couples qui vont et viennent dans l'ombre et la brume, à la fin de la chanson, -->
