Your never going to end hunger in the world when we let our population grow out of control with no restraints. We must lower population or things will continue to get worse, with or without a good economy.

More people require more food and more food requires more fertile land. Problem is, we are out of fertile land. Most of the food we grow is lacking in vits and minerals and its getting worse. Lettuce today has 1/3 the nutritional value of the 1950's. Same with all other crops.

Nutritious food is more expensive than less nutritious food. It is harder to come by in areas where there is high poverty due to fewer grocery stores wanting to business in impoverished areas. What is available in small local markets (think convenience stores) is high calorie convenience foods with a poor selection of more healthful foods, such as fresh fruit and vegetables. Finally, eating food has an emotional component. Food stamps often don't cover food needs from month to month.

I was floored when I saw the prices of fruits and vegetables in the US back in october.

Outrageous really...costing 70-100 usd ever 4-5 days for 2 people.

Wasn't very much food either.

Now if your eating garbage processed junk in boxes that a different story...cashiers looked at me like I was crazy buying fruits and veggies...all they see is garbage foods with a barcode on the box at the checkout.
