I assume to allow the router to rotate in the plastic jig you drilled the jig so that a templet guide would sit down into the hole? Attach the templet guide to the router base, then just set the templet guide into the hole in the plastic jig, set the pin on the jig to the proper position for your cut, and set it into a pilot hole drilled in the material you are cutting, and away you go. If you're still watching this thread, drop a response and let me know if I'm correct. Thanks.
If you want to know about routers you should watch "The Router Workshop with Bob and Rick Rosendahl. If you can get past that thing on Bob's head, the videos contain a wealth of information you can view then on "the woodworking channel" website
i have festool gear.I would adjust the depth so it just skims the slats underneath.I can hear the router stressing.Great idea.No good if you dont want brad holes though.Festool makes you drool.
Ya, do a vid of how you made the Jig please and i know its probably for demo purposes but for the noobs, set your plunge depth about a quarter of the wood thickness then reset deeper again to make about 4 passes depending on wood thickness (saves your bit, avoids burning wood and saves your router too)
Wow,I've never made a video that would be of any practical value for anyone...well...actually there was that one advising folks not to stick certain appendages into Vacuum Cleaners.Think
it's called Electrolux Circumsision or somesuch.I wouldn't do anything like that with a cab, nomatter how fresh the hole;no matter how much the jigs require me to mount...noway,dude...
right at the end of the cut the centre section would break free, and consequently the centre point would move, do you have to guard against this movement, or is the centre pin attached to something below the surface.
Hi, if you pause the start of the video you will see that I use 3 scrap wood slats and what I do in order to get that perfect circle is brad the center area to that middle scrap of wood and I get no movement of the center point. two brads above and below the center point keeps it in place.
That's nice.

You either need a tripod for your camera or someone else to hold it whilst your are cutting. Nutter. Good jig and tip though, thanks.

Sure would be nice to see how you designed & built your circle jig!

I'd really like to get the instructions on how to build this jig. Please make the video :)

Get a sharp cutter and make the cut in several shallow passae to avoid burning your material, and defening everyone near to you.

Does circle jig have like a piece that fits snug into the routers base as were you can rotate the router and jig

I see the jig works great but how did you attach it to the router? A video of how you made the jig would go great with this.

Of course! That's how you do it.
Thanks for posting this.

The Center Pin is set into the middle block of wood (2x4?), thus staying steady on the last move of the circle cut, if the 3 2x4's are pinned stable.

I am using a 1/4" spiral bit. It's the best way to get a clean cut without having to make 10 passes.

Hi! What size router bit are you using because i have jasper circle and i have some minor problem using it?
