  • did you know he invented the modern suspension for the snowmobile

  • @niikodas Indeed, he simply applied autoracing principles to snowmobiles. In fact, that snowmobile he burried along with the plans and covered it in concrete just to be sure nobody would profit from it.

  • Gilles Villeneuve.Driver full of heart and passion for Formula one .Rare in today`s drivers.Perhaps

Rubens Barrichello is the last of dying breed.

  • Laffite used to joke that if Villenueve and Prost had a kid, he would be the perfect driver.

And after practice on the day that he went 11 secs faster than the rest on the wet Laffite also said "I dont know why we even try, he is from another planet"

(according to his biography by Gerald Donaldson).

  • If He had not died God knows what he would have achieved in the years to come...The world would have seen him race Senna.

    RIP GILLES!

  • Great driver, and a good tribute, congratulations pal, good work. Cheers from Milano.

  • great driver.a real racing driver.unforunately we are not going to see any driver such as him in the future

  • Hi arhavlisj, good comment, is it true? But it would be the ultimate set-up, but completely impossible, Lauda, a classic neutral driver, and Villeneuve, all oversteer rear end driver!!!!! The thing I read about Senna's car sensivity, it boggles the mind!

  • Very good video

  • This guy was one of the greatest drivers the world ever saw, he was a beast in the rain.

The poor security of old F1 killed Gilles and Senna, two TRUE legends. Good that we have prost, mansell and piquet still alive. These 5 guys are the Elite Drivers. Only them!

  • An exemple of determination and courage! He knew what "never give up" really means. Salut Gilles!

  • Great video bro! You already know how I feel about this guy, HE WAS THE MAN! Shumacher who?

  • Yo the man bro, keep em comming.

  • Well worth 5 stars, he was a top driver great pictures.

  • Why is this only 2 stars? Good stuff. RIP

  • Well done Pod

  • Great to see u back zdude.

  • Nice pictures, but at least put on some music

  • Thanks for the comment, but it seems that they are going bonkers with the copyright thing, so that's the main eason for this silent video, thanks for understanding.

  • What is up with that? I noticed that too. What's the world come too? No wonder people HATE corporations. So much greed. What the hell is the point of music if you can't share it? On these vids the quality of the music is not god enough to 'steal' anyway. And If I like music enough I buy it instead of getting some pirated crap that is bad quality. It's just insane. Pissed me off. People will rebel and then these greedy punks at these corps will have nothing. YT has fallen victim to the 'man'.

  • A giant of a man, and a poet of a driver.

    True genius personified.

  • Fine vid Jeepy.... It's fantastic when you see a driver with his skills, trying it harder and harder even when the car is not working... Self-steam has to be VERY big.... His confidence was what always fascinated me, his "theory of the always axisting gaps" to go trough... It's not a way of driving but a way of living!!! I still remember Prost deeply touched after his death saying: "He was a real driver, we're just a bunch of guys going round and round". RIP to this little BIG man...

  • Thaks Byddy, but my biggest joy is that I pride myself by saying that Gilles Villeneuve was born here in my country and in my province(Quebec) and that I had the honor of seeing him race with my own eyes...a great privilege.

  • it's a true shame that villeneuve had only 6 GP wins to his name and that obviously if you look at pironi in 1982, villeneuve would've easily been champion, not many people think of that. it's just like senna, if he could've competed to atleast to 1997, he would be 7 time world champion and statistically the greatest driver of all time, not many people think of that either. it was a good video but i'de like some music...

    4/5

  • He was a great driver, no doubt. But Gilles, like Didier as well, had a little bit of extra child like bravado and bravery that led to both of their accidents.

  • Such a terrible shame he had to die,far too soon. Loved his racing style, so fearless yet such a gentleman. Respect Gilles and R.I.P. we miss you.
