Was in viet nam in 1966 and 1967 and they brought this film out to the field for some entertainment for us...Magically we went from john wayne fans to clint eastwood fans overnight..At the time could not figure out that strange music..
The west is often disregarded by many, sure it has been romanticized in films, books, and television shows. But many people forget the west was a real time in American history. A violent and unstable time, a time where many didnt know if they were going to live through it. It was a time similar to no other in history, a time unto itself. A time where peoples lives were often protected by 1 man. A time where survival was the only thought in their minds.
@PeculiarTactics Maybe that is where the American "I have the right to own a gun and shoot trespassers on my property" mentality came from? I've always wondered about that.
Yes, Chuck Norris is still with us because.... Clint Eastwood ALLOWS HIM TO LIVE!!!LOL.... and its a damn shame Steve McQueen isnt with us any longer either.
clint eastwood belongs to the era where men used to work hard for a living and not cry about every silly problems. They come live their life, age gracefully and go unlike today where even 50 yr old pump in stuff to keep him for aging and act as if he is 25
Hey anyone played Red Dead Redemption? It's set way way after the 1870s, but doesn't Chuparosa remind you of this movie? Especially the arches in the Mexican towns and flowers pouring down the walls.
@Kelly14UK Yeah the games based around 1911-1912 I think, still a great game and everytime I watch a western and/or listen to these kind of themes I always wanna go play the game.
@Bashaza Whats the meaning of an arrow to the knee?i keep seeing this..and judging from your comment to noone must not be a good thing,..please enlighten me if u want to..
@Christos75GR The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim. Guards say from time to time "I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an arrow in the knee." And of course, it spread. A lot. To the point that for every time you hear a guard say this, you can read 2000 Youtube comments containing it. If you can, shoot anybody that tells this overused joke.
I listen to this song as I walk down the street... and I feel like I'm invincible and I can take down anybody....! Lemme @ Chuck Norris! I'll beat the crap outta him! jk... great song tho!
Just watched the movie.. But I think Yojimbo, where Fist Full of Dollars got its inspiration from, is much better. I like both theme songs though.. go and search up the Yojimbo theme song, it doesn't disappoint.
Clint is by far my favorite actor, can't beat the shoot out scene at the end of Pale Rider...I included Clint in a song I wrote about superheroes called 'The Jason Bourne Song'. Feel free to check it out, cheers
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly sound track is the most famous, and is superb. But the Fistful and a Few Dollars soundtracks are equally epic in my opinion.
little known fact ,, van cleef did the whistle track , well known threw out hollywood as a master whistler , met his 3rd wife that way , also did the track for theme song- the andy griffith show-
With this serving as an exception, Chuck Norris is not worthy of mention in the same sentence as Clint Eastwood. While your at it, compare piss to wine.

I didn't see it again until a year ago (didn't even know the name of the movie... just happened upon it). And damn... it's a good movie.

masterpieces, sir eastwood started his career here, music, acting, everything was never repeated after this, its so long ago, I adore Clint Eastwood, Ennio Morricone, nothing to compare nowadays....
@blueealgeblack i saw him blink in a fist full of dollars. when he kicks open the door and says "hello". shoots the guy who tried to draw and spin, but failed miserably. on the second shot.
Clint Eastwood would only ever possibly lose a duel to John Wayne and MAYBE Franco Nero. I would love to see a three-way duel between three of their characters like at the end of "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly." I'd put my money on John Wayne. But come on, who doesn't want to see The Man With No Name versus Rooster Cogburn versus Django?
This reminds me of Sergio Kaffuffel's 1969 opus ' Santiago, We're Coming For You, You Bastard!' A very rare spaghetti western (part of the Bastard trilogy) starring Terence Puccinni as the eponymous anti hero, Santiago. It was part of a trilogy that also included, 'Santiago, You Bastard! Where's The Gold?' (1968) / ' Santiago, This Bullet's For You, You Bastard'. (1970).
@Hitman38200 If you can win rugbymatches and hold the opponent back with everything chill and easy and this song in your head... I respect you! XD TEACH ME MASTER!
@Travelingrocknroller ah thanks man it's quite simple really i'm not the biggest or strongest guy on my team yet i am still our "tank" if yo know what i mean. It's all to do with attitude play without fear, as my coach says "you don't know them and they don't know you why in gods name should you be nice to them" just smash them as hard as you can and run as hard as you can that way you know you've done your best
