I'm glad that Kubo-sensei did this..its so poetic, so sad and so meaningful.. As much as I was heartbroken when I saw Ulquiorra die, I think it had an effect, it made his character story more tragic and leaves us remembering him forever. However, I too wish that he could somehow come back, maybe by through reincarnation or whatsoever..just so we could see him and love him even more again..

Ulquiorra was the most complex character Kubo ever written in this series. I don't watch or Bleach anymore since he's dead now and the Espada (save for Grimmjow who still has yet to show his ass after being saved by Ichigo from Nnoitra; and yes, he is still alive), but for when he was around, I was sure never to miss a moment: curious to know more. His is a tragic, cold, and depressing story, but at least he died having an "idea" of what happiness was like.

@beagleboy547 He would be considerd stronger than esparda 3 and he could beat yammy because yammy was so slow and ulquiorra was so fast and his lanza del relampago could have destroyed yammy him being stronger than 1 stark and 2 barrgan i could not say stark and barrgan were holding back stark because he was lazy and barrgan because of his god complex he though he had to use not much of his true power it would be verry close.
@FSCGHOSTNAPPA12 I feel like Barragan he couldn't beat, but stark wasn't really holding back at the end, he just got caught in that one captain's shadow game bankai and got fucked over. Thanks though, appreciated :)
@beagleboy547 np my fav espadas are uquiorra,barrgan,and grimmjow they had the best releases out of all the espada and there music used with it matched so well power to strive was great for grimmjow, kariya's song for ulquiorra's 2 release made you feel like you were screwed,and wisper of the apocalypse for barrgan's release made it creepy and made you go on guard.
@XxDegallaxX it appeared neither in the manga nor the anime, Kubo made it in the 3rd character book. So yes it is all real but simply never showed up in the story
A pure white Vasto Lorde being born among pure black Vasto Lordes at the bottom of a pit. Climbing out of the pit by himself, possibly killing all the others along the way. It just makes me feel worse about him.
I still wonder why his Segunda Etapa looked more like the black Vasto Lordes in his past than how he looked back then. Maybe it was supposed to show how the stronger he gets, the more he loses himself?
If only Aizen hadn't ruined everything....(damn you, Kubo!)
Ulquiorra deserves to come back. Everytime I see this I realized how much pain and loneliness he have been through. :( He will always be my favorite character.. <3

@MirroredLove but Ichigo left a body, Ulquiorra dissolved completly into ash. Kubo also said that he was very pleased with how the fan community reacted to his death
I love how he is a pure white hollow surrounded by pure black hollows. I love how he has no mouth to eat souls with, no ears or nose to hunt with. How his eyes are so big and wide, like he could see a lot more than us. How his wings are at his lower back instead of his shoulders. I love how it suggests that when he sank his body into that cluster of trees and broke his mask that he became an arrancar on his own since he was already a vasto lorde when it broke, and not when Aizen found him.
I find this deeply poetic. And I believe he already found his "happiness". I think it was the human "heart" that was frustrating him to understand when he found that it was "in his hand" with Orihime. The sad thing is, though, is that right when he found his "happiness", he died. The poor thing...if he comes back he should get a second chance at that "happiness".

People got pissed at the author and literally mobbed him to make him bring sherlock back. It seems that ulquiorra was more "human" when he was just a hollow. Then when he was an arrancar his eyes lost any innocence he once had, now they are cold. Damn you aizen!!!!
Was Ulquiorra a Vasto Lorde? His form here is more humanoid than the adhuchas we saw in Grimmjow's past and in other episodes. Also, adhuchas are supposed to feed on other hollows in order to stop regressing- But Ulquiorra had no mouth. Could it be possible that him having a second resurrection form also implies that he was something more powerful such as a Vasto Lorde, if not something more evolved than an adhucha?
@RsingDrkness There is no way to bring him back, he faded out of existence after his fight with transcendental hollow ichigo. It will be more feasible to the plot if Grimmjow returns since he didn't have a definite death.
@RsingDrkness I kind of like it this way. Now we can insinuate what we want from this. I would love if he came back, but this leaves more room for our own versions of what happened.
what is this? i stopped caring about bleach a very long time ago (right after the arrancar saga) but this seems very interesting, is it a volume about the arrancars?
@lilrockable Yeah, this is a separate data book Kubo released. It includes profiles for many of the characters that appeared during the second part of the Arrancar arc, as well as elaborations on important events that occurred and a short chapter detailing Ulquiorra's background.
But other than that this chapter somewhat proved that Ulquiorra as a hollow was possibly a Vasto Lordes, seeing that he bares the humanoid shape necessary for that form as akin to Aduchas constant needing to feed to prevent regression, Ulquiorra apparently was incapable of eating anything.
Ulquiorra slight eye motif really emphasis well on his aspect of death in this manga. As a hollow his only form of interaction with the world was through his vision. Because of that ultimately what he saw lacked meaning, and what he can't see doesn't exist. I'm really starting to feel for his character now.
I see some symbolism here. To put it as simply as I can, I will say that I noticed the upside down cross at the beginning of the vid as well as noting the "Void" and the "Tree." It seems to me that the Tree is the Tree of Life since IIRC it had a Void in it as well as it being what Ulquiorra would later become. Not only that but back to the cross, I think it ties in with Ulquiorra having some ties, symbolically, to Lucifer, himself. Not saying he's Satanic, but it would contrast with nihilism.
You know what?!?! I think we should start a petition to bring ulquiorra back. Kubo isn't going to know we miss him unless we tell him. Moping about it on YouTube wont change things. So who's with me?

This may or may not have been talked about but when he says that he has found something "amazing", could the branches of the tree possibly be symbolism towards him being turned from a hollow to an arrancar? Parts of his mask fall off as well, which is one of the main reasons as to why I think that the thing that he found "amazing" was Aizen, who had turned him from a hollow to an arrancar.

@TheClownPrince85 I think Ulquiorra, Halibel, Barragon, and Stark were all Vasto Lordes. Ulquiorra you can tell from this video, in a filler episode they showed Halibel as a vasto lorde when she was in Hueco Mundo (I assume that this was approved by Kubo Tite, because other wise the anime couldn't make such a big assumption), Barragan looked like his released form, which looks more Vasto Lorde than adjuchas, and Stark looked human in Hueco Mundo.

A pure white Vasto Lorde being born among pure black Vasto Lordes at the bottom of a pit. Climbing out of the pit by himself, possibly killing all the others along the way. It just makes me feel worse about him.
I still wonder why his Segunda Etapa looked more like the black Vasto Lordes in his past than how he looked back then. Maybe it was supposed to show how the stronger he gets, the more he loses himself?
If only Aizen hadn't ruined everything....(damn you, Kubo!)

I love how he is a pure white hollow surrounded by pure black hollows. I love how he has no mouth to eat souls with, no ears or nose to hunt with. How his eyes are so big and wide, like he could see a lot more than us. How his wings are at his lower back instead of his shoulders. I love how it suggests that when he sank his body into that cluster of trees and broke his mask that he became an arrancar on his own since he was already a vasto lorde when it broke, and not when Aizen found him.

I find this deeply poetic. And I believe he already found his "happiness". I think it was the human "heart" that was frustrating him to understand when he found that it was "in his hand" with Orihime. The sad thing is, though, is that right when he found his "happiness", he died. The poor thing...if he comes back he should get a second chance at that "happiness".

@bluRayne21 Yes but you know sherlock holmes? Well it might sound like it has nothing to do with this but listen. at the end where he fights his arch enemy they both die at the end. People got pissed at the author and literally mobbed him to make him bring sherlock back. Now maybe Just maybe if we send enough fan letters asking for ulquiorra and grimmjow to make a re-appearance he might do it 0_0 fingers crossed ^_^

Was Ulquiorra a Vasto Lorde? His form here is more humanoid than the adhuchas we saw in Grimmjow's past and in other episodes. Also, adhuchas are supposed to feed on other hollows in order to stop regressing- But Ulquiorra had no mouth. Could it be possible that him having a second resurrection form also implies that he was something more powerful such as a Vasto Lorde, if not something more evolved than an adhucha?

@RsingDrkness There is no way to bring him back, he faded out of existence after his fight with transcendental hollow ichigo. It will be more feasible to the plot if Grimmjow returns since he didn't have a definite death.

@lilrockable Yeah, this is a separate data book Kubo released. It includes profiles for many of the characters that appeared during the second part of the Arrancar arc, as well as elaborations on important events that occurred and a short chapter detailing Ulquiorra's background.

Ulquiorra was a character with depth that left readers thinking when he died. it was really great to see this extra bit of him.
i could cry right now....... i always think he's a character that should have never died but then, if he didn't die, we wouldn't treasure him so much.

But other than that this chapter somewhat proved that Ulquiorra as a hollow was possibly a Vasto Lordes, seeing that he bares the humanoid shape necessary for that form as akin to Aduchas constant needing to feed to prevent regression, Ulquiorra apparently was incapable of eating anything.

Ulquiorra slight eye motif really emphasis well on his aspect of death in this manga. As a hollow his only form of interaction with the world was through his vision. Because of that ultimately what he saw lacked meaning, and what he can't see doesn't exist. I'm really starting to feel for his character now.

I see some symbolism here. To put it as simply as I can, I will say that I noticed the upside down cross at the beginning of the vid as well as noting the "Void" and the "Tree." It seems to me that the Tree is the Tree of Life since IIRC it had a Void in it as well as it being what Ulquiorra would later become. Not only that but back to the cross, I think it ties in with Ulquiorra having some ties, symbolically, to Lucifer, himself. Not saying he's Satanic, but it would contrast with nihilism.

This may or may not have been talked about but when he says that he has found something "amazing", could the branches of the tree possibly be symbolism towards him being turned from a hollow to an arrancar? Parts of his mask fall off as well, which is one of the main reasons as to why I think that the thing that he found "amazing" was Aizen, who had turned him from a hollow to an arrancar.

@TheClownPrince85 I think Ulquiorra, Halibel, Barragon, and Stark were all Vasto Lordes. Ulquiorra you can tell from this video, in a filler episode they showed Halibel as a vasto lorde when she was in Hueco Mundo (I assume that this was approved by Kubo Tite, because other wise the anime couldn't make such a big assumption), Barragan looked like his released form, which looks more Vasto Lorde than adjuchas, and Stark looked human in Hueco Mundo.
