I hated this movie. It was a disgraceful pseudo remake of The Dirty Dozen (and many others), there was only one good scene in the whole movie (bar scene), and the primary antagonist completely reverses his character at the end for absolutely no reason at all. I'm sorry but I had to mention that since it is one of the biggest no no's you could ever make when writing a story.
Bar scene was good but the rest was terrible.

The movie was a steaming pile of shit. Not even one redeeming quality. QT is the most overrated director in the world and his writing skills are downright dreadful.
The movie is one of a kind in that it portrays the "inglorious basterds" to be worse then Nazis. They should be hanged for war crimes not praised.

Yeah, I know, I'm a bit bland and this review goes against most of the ones which praised it. And they are entitled to their opinion, don't get me wrong -- but I can only say what I felt when watching this movie: it's not QT's best, his style didn't fit the plot well, and it's hard to take such a bloody movie seriously with all the comedy.

actually it is not set in vichy france but in german occupied france, which is a different thing.
