  • If you dont mind me asking how much was the cage? So I can start saving up haha, and did you get that strawberry thing from pets at home too?Sorry so many questions, thanks :P x

  • @1998bethany I got it for my birthday :) it was expensive, around £45 - £50. and the strawberry was from Pets at home too :)

  • my gerbil died today:(:(:(

  • it must be hard to clean the cage

  • @needyspeedy7 you're right, it's really hard to clean. but the gerbils love it :')

  • that's an awesome cage! where did u get it? i have a gerbil too. His name is Pogo, because he hops when he walks lol

  • Is he kept alone ???He needs another gerbil

  • @fruitrollups100 no see my other videos

  • @Squintysquintsquint Ok gooooooooodddddd

  • why did i not get gerbils sighs I don't want my hamster to die! but i really want one. But my mom can only handle so many rodents at a time. :p My hamster wud kill another hamster. Shes so lazy lounging around all day then keeping my family up all night. Then goes and leaves a trail of urine on our walls leaving me to get yelled at. Ugh but shes too cute to stay mad at! :3

  • i adopted one yesterday he is so sweet im holdong him now

  • i just adopted one yesterday you can see the vid of her if u want its on my channel

  • hey does anyone now how to stop gerbils from chewing things like their toys i just gave mine a toilet paper cardboard roll and all he does is chew chew until it diapears he ate a piece about 5 inches long of paper i tell him to stop he stops then does it again like now

  • @slipknotmetal22ify you can't stop them chewing, its their natural instinct! if you give them wooden toys it takes them longer to destroy though ;)

  • @slipknotmetal22ify take the stuff out for a few days then put back in

  • @slipknotmetal22ify same here my gerbil tom chews them all the time xx

  • its cute...hide it hide it from richard gere!!!

  • i love gerbils

  • yeah i agree nice cage and your gerbil looks just like my gerbil momiji.

Rats make WAY better pets to me. but that my personaly opinion. If you can properly care for a rat THEN GET ONE, instead of a gerbil. but its up to you.

    (liberty sais hi)

  • my opinion is that gerbils are better cause they can be trained, they are clever and they know how to survive in deserts

  • my mums old boyfriends, (at the time when she went out with him) punched my gerbil on the head cos it bit him, and he killed it.

  • wow hes messed up in the head i would have poisened his drink. sorry for your loss.

    (liberty sais hi)

  • @guthaninfested AWW THATS SAD...

  • @guthaninfested - owe thats teribble

  • You should always keep them in pairs of 2.. Where I live, there is actually a law that forbids you to keep them alone.

Anyway, a real cutie this one, REH or Argente? ;)

  • Mine Past Away this Morning i Miss Him Like crazy. Cute gerbil btw

  • It looks just like mine!

  • hmmmm

i hear gerbils arent really social and not very smart

my friend reccommed a rat 2 me because they are smarter and alot more social

id like to hear someone elses input

  • They are social animals, they ARE smart.

But its your choice im sure its just beacause your friend has a rat.

  • rats ( Not sewer rats though ) are very clean and playful and smart. Gerbils aren't that dumb. Generally once u put a gerbil in a cage it wont want to leave that area. Gerbils VERY RARELY bite. unless of course they are treated very bad. Gerbils are also fun because they don't bite when u first get them either. Generally both of these animals have their ups and downs. But it is up to u. I personally own a gerbil. ( Not because i don't want a rat but because my mom and my aunt don't want rats )

  • gerbils are much more nice and tho they may not be as smart as rats they are EXTREMELY smart. they are more social then rats...and rats are harder to care for

  • That is a MAGNIFICENT cage you got there!

  • aaaaaaaaaw adorable little gerbil!

  • hi does ur gerbil let u hold it and can u help me think of a name for mine i just got it yeterday? thanks

  • stanley or lucy!

  • my gerbil died today i miss ollie so so much:(

  • Aw I'm sorry to hear of Ollie's death.

Try and remember the good times you had with him. I know how hard it is to lose a pet and I hope you'll feel better soon. :)

    R.I.P Ollie

    xx

  • I ended up getting a huge rotastak cage instead of the tank and for a great price off the net too, so far my gerbils haven't es

    caped or chewed anything.

  • should i buy a hamster or gerbil?

  • well:

hamsters sleep all day & are awake making noise all night.

gerbils sleep at night & you can play with them in the day.

gerbils are highly active - hamsters are pretty lazy. however, this means gerbils are harder to handle sometimes (they run VERY fast!)

Hamsters are lone creatures whereas gerbils can be kept togethter in pairs or larger groups.

it's your choice in the end but i recommned gerbils very much! :) hope this helps

  • I Have That Seasaw Its Called Playground Fun Isnt It I Have It For My Hamster !!!

  • soooooooooo Cute!!!

  • cool vido oh and thanks for subscribeing to me! :)

  • i have 2 gerbils. they are great!

  • That cage is so cool! how did you make it?

  • thanks :) i didn't make it, it was like that when i bought it from Pets at Home.

  • You bought that from PetsAtHome? I've seen the one with the tank and cage on top but I've never seen my local PetsAtHome sell that one. I have this gerbilarium :). Jebus tho, I bet PetsAtHome sold it for an extortionate price :\ I got mine second hand and bought for £8.50 ^-^ I was chuffed!! :D So How much did that one cost?? Your Gerbils are lovely BTW

  • it was pretty expensive.. about £40!!

I got it for my birthday. i wanted one with plastic tubes and stuff but apparently they chew their way out XD

  • Your cage looks neat.

  • thanks. everyone says that! :)

  • i've got a gerble called lola i'm only 12 but i got her a few weeks ago but i'm to scared to handle her incase she bites me hard because she nips me. does urs do that too? how hard is it

  • I had gerbils, and they did bite. It's not that bad, but you would want to avoid it. It's best to start handling them when they are young so that they get used to it. I waited too long b/c I was nervous.

  • awesome man

  • I have one gerbil u can keep them alone, depending though cause mine was born alone so it don't mind it and well it was alone for a long time and it's not depressed it's acually normal and with me it loves me and i socialize with it a lot i know u should get atleast two so i might be getting another one and doing the split cage method so they get to know each other

  • how old is she i have a gerbil of my own and his name is touillie and well he's small and urs is big is urs a mongolian or a different type??

  • yes she is a mongolian. in this video she is about 2 months old I think so maybe touillie will grow bigger?

  • my mum told me gerbils are viscous apparently she owned two one died cos my grandad got bit and accidentally flung it across the room and the other one died because my mum got bit and pulled back so high it fell to it's death

  • Do they bite?

  • No, never

  • If your hands smell like food or salt. I have experiense :). I mean they dont bite hard.

  • her name is BRANDY? lol MINE TOO spelled the same way lol

  • really cool! i love the gerbils they are sooo cute!

  • hi

its me again i didnt really mean what i said i do really like it so sori answer my question though please cya xx

  • hi chloe2492

    Her name is Brandy.

she is in a closed cage but she is very tame, so i can easily catch her.

i trained her to come to my hand by putting sunflower seeds (her favourite food) on my hand, maybe you could try it on your gerbil??

  • there is no talking in it which makes it a bit boring but its good. my question is wat is your gerbil called and is it not in a closed cage because when i put my gerbil out i cant catch it

  • It says in the video information that your gerbil is female, but the thing i LOVE about rodents is how they have VERY visible testicles XD .. SO your gerbil is a boy :]

  • She has given birth to a litter of geril pups since this video was shot so maybe not ;)

I am going to post a video soon of her babies :D

Which are now fully grown. I just haven't got round to uploading it yet...

  • were did you get that gadge is soo big

  • I got it from Pets At Home. They have even bigger ones as well.

  • hi.

when i let my gerbils out of their cage they run away.

    do urs

i get them back but there hard 2 catch

  • Gerbils much prefer to live in groups of 2 or more. It's Syrian Hamsters that should be kept alone because as adults they will fight until one of them dies.

Most small animals won't accept a newcomer when they're adults, including gerbils, so I recommend getting 2 or more from the same litter.

  • How do you tell the deffernce between mongolian and syrian?

  • When I went to my local pet shop there were notices on the gerbil cages saying they must be kept alone.

  • It is difficult to introduce adult gerbils to each other, thus the warning at the store. Gerbils live in large family groups and an adult male will accept a young pup.

  • gerbils are social animals, so if i were u i would get at least 2-3

  • u need 2 or they will have a shorter life it is proven

  • True!

  • uuuum for anyone who has gerbils. do u have to have more than one? or will they be happy on their own?

  • thats a cool cage you have with all those platforms!

wow, you have a tp roll in there and they haven't chewed it up yet, my gerbils would have that chewed up in 10 minutes lol

  • Same here, they chew them in seconds. Mine sit in their food bowl as well.

I like the strawberry thing. :)

  • Thanks :D

This was back when I first got them. Since then they have learned to chew cardboard up in a matter of seconds!

  • Thank you cananyonehearme and Mikey6743 =D

I think its better to have a big cage than a small one if you have the space.

  • i dnt have that cage but i have a hamster and it has that playhouse thing that u have and she loves sitting in it! im hoping for 3 gerbils but dad isnt too keen even tho im paying for it?

  • u should buy more gerbils bcoz if they go 2 u they will hav a gr8 home. life

  • aaaaaw she is very cute!

  • big cage for such 1 amall gerbil i got two gerbils and its smaller than that
