  • The voice is a song from Georges Moustaki - Le temps de vivre. You can find a nice version of it live at a tv show. Xploding Plastix is the best band I know. I made 10 t-shirts of the cover album Treated Timber Resist Roth. I can say that all their album are deliciously different and hold an ambiance which is pretty rare nowadays. They have that little + that you call art...

  • I wouldn't trust Dan with that knife

  • 1:09

  • Espectacular, me gustaria tener algun disco de ustedes pero son bastante dificil de conseguir por intenet

  • i love the animation. I love xploding plastix.

  • jak se to může někomu nelíbit?? / how can someone dislike this?

  • vynikající hudba, k videoklipu není co dodávat je prostě úžasný

  • I'm crazy and I has a knife!!!! I laugh so hard every time I see the red head, Dan, get the knife and start stabbing wildly at the tree.

  • I love the way how the readhead man smiles in the end..

  • This is most definitely Xploding Plastix. It was meant as the first single to come of Donca Matic Singalongs, but they never managed to secure rights to the sample. Hence it was only released "unofficially" and on vinyl, making this a very rare release indeed.

  • @ErikVeland A few questions:

Where did you hear that they couldn't release it do to the sampling rights issue?

Do you know what song it samples?

Do you have the track Mon Amour? If so, would you be willing to send it? (I can't find it anywhere!). Thanks for your time!

  • @six6to8eight Heard it from the boys themselves. I don't know the original song.

  • What a treat to watch. Not often you see a good story/animation with music :)

  • awesome :')

  • hoi!

  • Heck yeah France and banjo!

  • TIME REWIND! REFORM KVIST!

Not unenjoyable song and vid though, for what it is.

  • the story is wonderful and the animation is very cool! i like the visual stylisation! :) not very typical song for Xploding Plastix

  • Kristine please call me in my profile my i net mess up

  • I got this on some Norwegian (I think) designers CD yeeears ago, been on my iPod ever since!

  • @satansam Could you send it to me? I would be so grateful! Send me a message if you can. Thanks!

  • cute

  • That banjo riff is heavenly, and the flutes just take me higher. I feel the beat in my hips and that guitar in my shoulders.

    Love it.

  • @damianpsx : indeed. the question here is why don't all bands just call themselves BAND? dude ... honestly ... get a f'in clue ...

  • I agree

  • what kind of music did you had in mind when you heard/saw the name xploding plastix.

obviously you can notice that its a bit of an alternative name, so the music will probably be underground, and this song is not rly like what the normal xploding is like anyway.

these ppl experement with music and bring out one of the most relaxing and moving vibes since a long time, if you cant

appriciate it that just dont and gtfo

    :P

  • I agree and i love their music. What i mean is that if someone see, for example, word "plastix" it MAY discourage him to listen to this great band.

  • pure gold! =)

  • n1 story and great sound <3

  • veeeeeery nice video..

  • Nous prendrons le temps de vivre, nous prendrons le temps d'etre libre (= We will take our time to live, We will take our time to be free.).

The video has a great feeling!

  • Anyone got the lyrics to this song ?

  • Lol, great video, great song :3

  • spettacolo, non credi? :)

  • i love this.

however the singer sounds like the most french person in all of history; in all of time.

don't get me wrong i love france and french people. but my god it's way too frenchy

i'm irish and if some guy come out with an ultra irish over blown accent i'd roll my eyes a little

fuck i don't know i'm a bit drunk and havin a "youtube night"

    i like the banjo,

banjo's should be used more often damn it!

  • @humanshieldchorus I should hope he has a good French accent when he's speaking (singing in) French... that's actually one of the least heavy French accents I've heard in a long time.

  • @humanshieldchorus Funny, since he's... danish or norwegian or something I believe. Scandinavian anyway. Or am I completely off...? It's a great testament to the fact that Scandinavian people pick up language rellay well as a rule. :)

  • @Mintylight yeah they really are. i'm rubbish at languges, i'm not even really that good at english!

  • @humanshieldchorus awesome

  • i don't get it.

    who is singing in french?

    who is playing banjo?

    atypical for xp.

  • Very nice song!

  • ahhh, how cute, i love he video + music

  • this song is awesome and very old!

  • Do you know who did the song? I don't believe this is actually a XP song as I've NEVER found it and I have most of their stuff and it isn't the original music for the video. If you can tell me that would be appreciated.

  • I have no idea if this is actually XP as i have failed to find this song anywhere else :-/

  • This is off the vinyl version of The Donca Matic Singalongs.

    Look it up on discogs.

  • Thanks!

  • Are you 100% sure this isn't video made for this song? Or is it just a guess? There is a lot oin this video that tells me that this actually is the original video. For example the lenght of the song equals the lenght of the movie. Also there are many moments in the clip where the beat fits the frames perfectly.

But, if it's just a short clip someone used, could you tell me. who's the creator of this animation? Because I love it!

  • @Mizmaaa This link makes me think that this video wasn't made for this song. It's certainly more like Xploding Plastix:

[So apparently youtube doesn't allow links to be posted... lame. If you do a youtube search for "Devious Dan" it should come up.]

The animators might be the names mentioned at the end...?

  • c'est bien! :D

    xx

  • awesome and funny

  • what is he saying? is he muttering non-sense

    or is it another language?

  • it's french...

  • einfach geil....

  • very creative......

  • Wait, what? Is this Xploding Plastix??

  • Yeah it is, but it's very different from what their album releases sound like. They make a lot of music for television and stuff too.

  • what album is this off, its very good

  • great song , great video !

  • New album wasnt that great unfortunately.

  • You just need to listen to it some more. It gets better each time I listen to it. Rigmarole Shell Out is divine!

  • It's definitely an album that requires more listening time than for instance Amateur Girlfriends, and after a while it's really superb. I doubt they'll ever top their first CD, though.

  • Man I love these guys

  • cool video!

  • interesting changes in their music style, let's wait for the new album

  • Yeeeeeaaaahh !!

    Great song ;)

    Wonderful, fantastic !! :D

    oooohhhhh...
