The 857 is bad, its the worst radio yaesu ever made. the 450 is far more better The YAESU FT 857 is an abortion, dont buy it youll hate it, it has rf issues
I'm saving up for an HF rig. I've been waffling back and forth between the 450 and 857. I understand the technology makes the 450 a better radio? But, the 857 would be great to do portable on. Any ideas? 73, Steve
Nice vid, I just got a FT-450 and also am planning to use it portable. Probably will not have a big of a battery as you.......at most 17 or 36Ah. Still gotta figure out the antenna as I'm be on a local hill top.
