I heard from a friend that it is illegal to own an emulator of a video game system that has released games. until a certain amount of time after no game is released is when you can own one. Anyone know if that is true because I have four.

@meatjo9 Owning a emulator is NOT illegal, it is only illegal to download and play Roms using an emulator if you DONT own an original CD/DVD copy of that game, it is also illegal to download BIOS of a console, because BIOS are owned by the console maker, like sony for example...Emulation is not a bad thing because its the only means of preserving classic games that will eventually become extinct/un-usable due to scratches.
