  • That was strange the original ELP tune was mixed into a modern mix or something.

  • what year is this?

  • @powerslaver6 Early 90's. 92 at the earliest.

  • sorry..but 4...is soo sweet!!! ^^

  • this makes me want to go work out....lol

  • I've seen the top bands of the 70's and I can honestly say that Carl Palmer is the most tallented drums in a live performance.

  • True. Basic 4 piece kits are ok..also.

Check out THE DRUMMER THE SHADOWMEN

  • Like to see you do it, you fucking no talent asshole.

  • nice thumb rolls on the tambourine .. those are always a pain in the ass to play

  • Having seen him live many times, his double bass work is good. He is trying to play offbeats and such with his feet- he CAN play doubles

  • He's so good because he practices at least 1-2 hours each day.

  • That's whate I thought mate. The hands were amazing, fantastic technique. I'm studying with Bob Armstrong right now, same grip, style, Moeller system, the lot. It's tough, but so rewarding!

  • barriemore barlows double bass is amazing.

about the rest... I think rich´s double bass is over the most times actually barely worth mentioning.

contrary to all his other skills.

  • The best drummer since Buddy Rich died

If only he woud drop the gongs and flahing lights. Not needed with his talent. Rich and Krupa did;nt need them.

  • @todbeck It's for a game show; there's going to be flashy production

  • fuck... palmer is the best. if you want to see a very expensive drum set, please, let to se some of progressive metal drummers such mike portnoy and terry bozzio....

  • Why did a gr8 man and drummer like Carl have to lower him slef to doing this, when he could have played or play any place on earth. Still it gave us mear mortals a chance to be impressed, and impressed I was . Good job CP.

  • "Practice and get a good teacher." - Carl Palmer

  • fucking love the generation game

  • So he messed up the bass drum roll, so what, his hands were amazing! Great guy, I hope I can play that well when I'm in my 60's!

  • He's such a good guy ;)

  • "All you have to do is play that solo"

"Oh it's easy, it's easy!" hahaha that's awesome. Killer solo btw.

  • The double bass pedal work he means...it was very poor. Palmer is a great drummer but whenever I've seen clips of his solo's, his feet just don't cut the mustard. He was't even taking his shirt off or putting a stick in his mouth here, so there's no excuse.

  • well, he has fun and thats what counts. thats what drums are about...

  • @panhead55.You are 100% right my friend. If you don't enjoy playing then there is point playing them in the first place. Good call my friend.

  • Siiiiiiick. Palmer is the Buddy Rich of progressive rock.

  • @tsman29 IMO I would have to say that Neil Peart is not Palmer. Although Carl is a great drummer.

  • Weird he used double-bass even with double-kicks around. Guess he couldn't get the endorsement. Still, I luv UK TV shows. They are caught in this time warp of variety show TV from the 60s and 70s.

  • its just a preference really, he'll always be using two basses just like many others will

  • loss the damn double bass crap....he was always way too good for that cheap stuff. He isn't also very good at it! Uneven and poorly played.. His hands are amazing...so lose the double bass!

  • too bad he had to cut his solo short...his solos are always something to watch!

  • Good LORD is this sad. It IS much the same solo as I would see ages ago. Watch the youtube solo from california jam. All he needs is to ring the bell with his teeth.

Really sad, cause I LOVED those guys....

  • You miss the point. The mere fact that Carl can STILL pull off the exact same 1974 solo in 2007 says all you need to know. Dude is in tiptop physique, with nothing left to prove.

  • o shut up vcoaster!!! i wanna c u do that solo... i think that solo is so good that it could last 40 years and stillw ould be amaizing! anyway,no drum solo is that same. u always choose wich drum to hit when ur on stage,im sure he practices before the show but there r alot of parts u make on the spot. i am a drummer my slef so i would know.

  • Yeah,I reckon you're bang on there ! :-)

  • Cool drummer, cool guy
