If I remember the street in Detroit was Hastings. 1-75 was constructed through the Black neighborhood. here in oakland the cypress freeway (the one showed collapsed during the 89 earthquake)was built right through a historic black neighborhood destryoed the whole area my grandfather told me the area was beautiful full of jazz clubs restaurants everything.
