Make that 3 legends. don't underestimate Fred Newman and what he did for the old school sound effects industry look up Fred Newman 'A Rumination' on YouTube from the Between the Lions era.
Nice video, and nostalgic for me, takes me back to when everything that was coming out felt so new and vibrant. Another thing it reminds me of, was that back then, you had to be on point and have your shit together when it came to something like learning how to scratch, because there was no specially made cartridges to help you out (even if there was, we sure as shit wouldnt be able to have them)....and for a while, I thought direct drives were a myth or somethin lol

This is from a show on Nickelodeon from either 83 or 84(cant recall) called Livewire.I actually remember watching this episode. The host was named Fred something and he used to make all sorts of goofy noises and songs(kind of like the white Bobby McFerrin)The guy that likes Cookie Puss is none other than a teenage ADROCK from the BEASTIES.Nice footage.
@jsnholton No shit? Nickelodeon? Dang. Imagine that, a network marketed to kids actually showing something (relatively) new and interesting and thought provoking. Expanding young minds and introducing new ideas, not just slopping out BS. Remember Nick News W5? That shit actually made me think. I watch it now with my 9 year old and it's garbage (except Phinneas and Ferb, they're pretty cool)
fucking dope rare footage nice fucking video this shit is gold teaching that straight white girl how to cut and chirp a baby scratch then all the kids asking all the questions everyone asks a turntablist and jay answers them really well
@djrakman__I had the pleasure of meeting Jazzy Jay in Santa Monica right after he performed at Zanzibar/Temple Bar back in '03. I thanked him for his contribution to hip hop, and he signed an autograph for me on the event flyer. He seemed equally as gracious to me to just be appreciated as such. This video definitely shows that soulful side of Jazzy Jay. I'll always remember that interaction with him fondly. What a cool dude. Today's hip hop artists could take a good lesson from Jay.
@jimmyrich1 A comment is generally a verbal or written remark often related to an added piece of information, or an observation or statement..............sooooo Do you have an idea now, of what a comment is?
@kevykev35 he looks like adrock but i think he is too young adrock was born in '66 the beasties were already around and in there late teens/early 20's by then this video is definately at least '84/'85 because they mention rock it which came out in '83 and honestly that kid looked too fucking straight to be a trashy/punky/rocky/hip hop band member/rapper/guitarist but hey i could be wrong
This comment has received too many negative votesshow

This footage is great for many reasons. I think it is King Ad Rock asking about the Beasties' 'Cookie Puss' record. He has that sly smile while he's asking about it since he made the song he's asking about.
