  • She did it beautifully, you idiots think the covers meant to be the same as the original? A cover isn't meant to be the same this is the modern version and she did it amazingly, I hate the kind of person who just tosses aside anything new, grow up, things change, idiots

  • what the hell has she done to this song?

  • what the fuck come on now this is shit compared to the wendy rene version

  • @FullyAutoMathmatics i like this beat, but wendy rene has the better voice by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar. oh and also, i found after laughter through this: watch?v=unKR9WupoSE

  • i like Alicia Keys, she's got a good voice, but this is a bad (meaning bad) "cover", could you call it a cover ?? :/ i dunno, but this aint good, Wendy Rene all day, if not either the Wu Tang sampling of it, or my own version, dont worry, i didn't use the same parts as Wu Tang !!

  • fail

  • crap

  • Excelente canción Busquen la original de Wendy Rene Recomendado

  • pfuj

  • has she ever done anything original?

  • she did a good job on this

  • how many times has this song been covered?!

  • dead music

  • i prefer the cover of wu tang clan...no doubt

  • Wendy Rene after laughter lets keep it real

  • Oh yeah, she totally ripped Wendy Rene. How crap. WTF happened to the talented Ms Keys? "Where my strong women at?"

Yeah right love, gimme a shout if you meet one lol....

  • @anitabreakone I can see the influences from wendy rene's song but it is still a different song lol =)

  • they r 2 completly different songs what is wrong with u ppl ?

  • @TheJasonderulofan You're right. So why did someone titile this (After laughter, comes tears)? Kind of strange. The beat and music sounds similiar but the vocals are entirely different. Love this song. It is titled on her album, (Where do we go from here).

  • I tried listening to this. But I couldn't. Original after laughter, way better. Stop trying to make it better because you're loosing major face.

  • they should have used the sample more. wu tang forever

  • james brown had 2 much soul @proph2008

  • WU TANG FOREVER

  • A TRUE DIVA !

  • Alicia's version is best. Changed up the beat and sounds a lot better. Voice is amazing and different words. Great! Other song by Wendy Rene good also but I love THIS song the way Alicia sings it.

  • @anitabreakone I love Alicia, but this version doesn't even hold a candle to the original. This is an unnecessary modern spin on a song that needed no improvement, as it was timeless. At least Wu Tang had the sense to sample the original, because it was brilliant. Still a good song though.

  • @Macsimus007 To each his own. I still like Alicia's version better. This is one of my favorite Alicia Key's songs. I'm glad she didn't think it was unnecessary beause I'm sure a lot of other people like her version also.

  • Almost everyone on here seems to be a moron. Its a sample get over it!

  • she has too much soul.

  • @MrBlamesociety how can u have "too much" soul? an I dont think she got all that either, beautiful though it is.

  • @proph2008

it was a sarcastic comment. obviously she is amazing in every way.

  • This song definitely owes something to Wendy Rene's original. It's obviously not the same song but the people who wrote it were clearly aware of the the original. There are elements of the original that have been lifted for this one.

    I think this sounds nice.

  • what are you idiots talkin about this is not a remake of "after laughter". bunch of morons.

  • @est623ce It only takes a person with one ear and half a wit to figure that out. 2 totally different songs

  • this is "Follow the Tracks of My Tears" by Smokey Robinson, not Wendy Rene's song

  • wendy rene plays the original not wu tang!

  • @ImALittleHigh THANKYOUUU !

  • @toniaete you're welcome :)

  • You dont know nothing.

This isnt a Wu tang song originaly.

    Theay sampled Wendy Rene!

  • shes talented but the wu is legendary rip odb zig zag zigga,

  • As much as i love alicia keys she couldnt do as much justice to the original as the wu tang clan in a million years

  • Dis song is da shit. Love it!! Wu-Tang need to leave beats like this alone. These kind of beatz are ment for people like alicia keys

  • This is sampled not a remake. Yes the song is actually called where do we go from here but the sample is named After Laughter comes tears

  • fail. she can sing I give her that. But this song is just not good. Compared to the idea of where it was taken from.

  • this is fucking retarded you go appoligize the wu tang clan right now

  • what a shitty version

  • horrendous

  • agreed

  • nice verison, like lykke li`s take on it better tho.,.. :)

  • Come on guys, this is good! :)

  • shes sampling and trying to do her own thing on the track, i can dig it its got a sick beat. Wendy Rene could shatter glass and brick with her version of after the laughter comes tears and Wu tang took the beat and ran with it on the track Tearz

  • good sampling of after the laughter beat, although wu tang did a much sicker sample on tearz

  • No way, you cant touch Wendy Rene's version she can shatter glass and brick with that voice

  • yall are retarded this is epic goodness

  • this is horrible !!!!!

  • wendy rene's version is the best

  • @zawadus i agreee..but dis aint bad isit

  • @zawadus for sure!!!!!!!what's dis fuckin shit!!! do right or don't!!!

  • @zawadus true

  • its aight, i like lykke's better

  • This is amazing, fuck the haters.

  • Hmmm....... Nice try......!

  • first 30 seconds is sampled from what, or is that alicia keys with some bullshit old sounding recording... the first 30 seconds is different from the rest of this shit song. Wendy Rene's after laughter is good, this is shit. The first 30 seconds though is quality. What the fuck is it?

  • medium version

  • massacred it

    :[

  • shes made a right cunt of that!!

  • Good one mate!

  • what a massacre!

  • I heard the wu-tang song "Tearz" with the sample, then the original, then this. they are all dope. This is why I love music. and for all the haters out there who say Alicia ruined a great song: 1 it's a different song (kinda), and 2 there's no good reason to hate covers (good or bad), if you don't like it, just say "nice try" and continue listening to the original.

  • Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I like this song...I haven't heard the original, but because of this song and my outstanding curiosity level I will go and look the song up

  • whats the beginnin bit whos the artist????

  • what nigga u r a fag and hater hoe ass nigga

  • Anyone know what the first 30 seconds is from? Its not Wendy Rene, "After Laughter."

  • this is not the name of the song on AK's album. it's Where Do We Go From Here

  • A good way to wreck a beautiful song ...

    Alicia, better sing your songs...

  • The original is better

  • This an outstanding quality track from a quality diva, touches the heart strings in+for different reasons X

  • original or no original - this song is deep on many levels - love and lossed ones....

  • i like this song, but the original name is were do we go from here.

  • light weight booty, que no?

  • gone pop with kanyeeezy and them

  • she didn't steal shit she just sampled the beat...like thousands of artists have been doing for years.

it's just a method of appropriation. sometimes the results suck but its not from lack of originality.

I personal like the song and it should be looked at as a tribute and not a "rip off"

  • trop belle !!!!!

  • I absolutely love this song! I think it's one of the best from As I Am.

and fyi for everyone, the name of this song is Where Do We Go From Here, and it is not a remake of After Laughter (Comes Tears), but it did sample parts from it and cites it as being sampled. so stop hating ppl! this is a masterpiece!

  • I love how she added the Wu-Tang in here

  • I love AK, but no this is terrible. Sorry AK your still dope and I love your music and i'll still buy your stuff, just didn't like this remake...............After this song comes tears

  • ak should name this song a different name,

honestly this was really really bad if u listen to the original, the lyrics is the only that reminds a little,

    wendy rene after laughter

if u wanna here a killer version u should search on lykke li after laughter, she got feelings

  • I'm disappointed that AK literally ripped of this song unbeknowsnt to me. What a copy cat! Is this all she can come up with in the 3+ years she was absent from the music scene? :( I could see if Britney did this, but Alicia Keys pretends to be original and is like all the pop singers out there. Don't get me wrong, she has a good singing voice and can play piano, but is overrated.

  • People dont rip of songs the but the rights, if you read album covers its tells you which songs were sampled, I think it keeps old music alive

  • This apparently isn't After Laughter, but Where do we go from here. Yet in this song Alicia Keyes shows a remarkable resemblance with Wendy Rene's troubled, deel soul style. Brilliant tune IMO.

  • word to the mother

  • horrible rendition

  • I disagree. It's about as good as it can get for a modern day remake of a song originally made in another entire time. I even like the samples of the original Wendy Rene version, the same sample Wu Tang used in their version of the song, which you can first hear right at 1:08. Just a beautiful song. Alicia's one of the bright lights in today's dumpster of pop music.

  • couldn't agree more, RobThomas916.

  • Beautiful

  • that's not that song! It's the Where do we go from here!!!

  • its ok but isint that totally copyright infringment or what?

  • have to pay for the most part (if you are a mainstream/commercial artist because the product will be distributed in amounts that will get the attention of the copyright holders...etc) also depends on how long and how popular the songs are...etc

  • No está mal el tema, pero no le llegan ni a la suela del zapato de la versión original..

  • magnifique! mais elle ne remplace pas celle de wendy rene !!

  • wow ruined it, this should be a crime, not even near as good a voice as wendy. leave it to modern music to ruin a good thing

  • God! That is horrible. She destroyed a beautiful song. Her song is just a poor imitation of Wendy Rene's song.

    Wendy is brilliant!!!!!

  • This song is actually called "Where Do We Go From Here"

  • @fagwam is interpolated from wutang wutang took it from wendy rene "after the laughter" bt very cool play again thou :D
