ive had S.A.D my entire life and i feel there is no hope at all. ive been on meds ive been in therapy nothing works. positive affirmations do nothing because theyre just words to me. i can say im alright till im blue in the face but i do not feel alright. worst of all NO ONE takes this sickness seriously. i have NO support in my life because they think im just shy. sometimes i wish i could die.
Pills, therapy, books about the subconcious mind etc you name it. In my experience I can truly testify that only The Living GOD has healed me. Medications from doctors helped me a little and it was temporary. God's healing power is ETERNAL! Now Im not an antidepressant pill dependent. The cure for fear is FAITH! Fear limits you. FAITH ENABLES YOU! People, THE ALMIGHTY GOD IS YOUR ONLY HOPE. READ THE WORD OF GOD, HAVE FAITH AND OBEY! God loves you and He wants you to LET HIM...
What a great vidoe:) hehe. Positiv energi IS the way. Sucks when you just cant!! Thats why its important not just to watch funny movies and listning to funny stories. You have to work on your thinking, and i think in most cases you need psykologikl help. Witch its hard to get when you are afraid to confront people.
Thanks Harold....My life has been seriously affected by social anxiety.....I've suffered tremendously......Your video makes a lot of sense and is very inspirational...........
This is a positive encouraging video. The more I learn about social anxiety, the more I'm beginning to believe it is a demon...and I'm not kidding. Too many people are experiencing these bizarre symptoms that they have no control over...hmmm
I have this about four or five years now, when I leave my house I think everyone is looking at me and laughing or thinkin im a nutjob, im afraid to aproach people because im self conscious that there looking at my red face because that is the worst thing for me is the blushing that comes with the SA.
im well known around my area because i go out on the weekends and talk to everyone when I have alcohol in my system but without drink I can't function...im suicidal everyday because of it...
that scenario at the beginning is so true,I can't go to the mall.someone will look at me or something,I can't eat in front of anyone because they will look at me.I can't do anything in public, people (most likely targeting the minority) get me frustrated.
hey man u are a cool dude, i have had this for about 10 years. its not something i feel comfortable talking to someone face to face about (not even to my own family) . also i feel embaressed to talk to a doctor about this do u have any advice for people who want to seek medical advice but are to afraid?
harold great video you made me feel better my social anxiety is so horrible it kills me inside how you exampled in the beginning is exactly how i feel when i leave my house but i will try like you said work on me and my self and thought patterns if you have any more advice for me i would be thankful.
Thank you SO much for talking about this, Harold. I've suffered from social anxiety disorder and depression since I was little...it stems from bad childhood experiences; I have spina bifida and I was often made fun of when I was a kid. I'm working on my problems with psychotherapy and my developing faith, its coming along quite nicely. Again, THANK YOU!!!!!!
cbt is not so clear cut I tried cbt and still isnt enough their is a different form of therapy called schema therapy that includes psychodynamic, gestalt, and cbt therapy for people who cant respond to traditional cbt alone.
Thank you for offering your thoughts and insights about alternative forms of therapy. I am open to any type of therapy or counseling that works. That is the important thing. Thank you for your input. You are appreciated. Hope yours is a great new day!
Once you have a panic attack you worry that you'll get more and it's like a vicious circle. Meditation and cognitive therapy do wonders. A doctor once said that drinking a lot of water all at once during an attack is also beneficial. Very, very enlightening video. Nice of you to post this . 5 stars
one time i got so focused on Jesus that its all i could see. everything else in my social anxiety situation vanished. i really felt love for everyone instead of fear. just wanted to share that;..... this is such an interesting subject anyways, like all your vids harold. thanks for your concern for others.
you are right harold; focus has alot to do with it. have dealt with it as well for yrs off and on. its imaginary thinking. relizing you dont have to be perfect in every social situation and just have fun with it without thinking helps alot. focus focus focus is the key.
Yes, I have pretty much overcome SA. I have 2 brain tumors which causes me to have pressure in my head so when I go out in public sometimes my head bothers me which causes me to feel anxious but I just deep breathe, meditate and relax and I can make it through the time. My life is so different than it used to be when I suffered really severe anxiety.
Only had a panic attack once and that was scarey! I DO know that cognitive therapy DOES help you change your own thought proccess though and therefore is is a great benefit for anyone who suffers like this! Bless each of those suffering and Bless you Harold. Love Wins, Jan (and Susan)x
Those two comments below were for BenderBurgers. BTW, keep on posting great videos Harold. Your wise commentary is a more practical wording of what I think!! Lols...
You nailed it. I got it. Im paranoid as hell around anyone. I stay away from groups.|I dropped out of school because of this stuff.I couldnt concentrate on anything. Im a total shut in. Work and home work and home. Thats my life in a nutshell.Ive never had a relationship and probably never will.Thank you for this video Harold.
Emotions can be used for positive things, but when they cause you to be unhappy like what you speak of, they are just a thorn in your side.
Get rid of emotions by releasing attachment to carnality. Do not grieve, do not anger, do not hate, do not fear, do not place your pride in the flesh, just be at peace and unity with the cosmos like Jesus Christ.
You must be in the mindset where you are entirely withdrawn from carnality, thus emotions have no power over your infinite mind.
These things bothered me more when I was younger and around people more often.I was too young to deal with emotions at all,but in a sense I have let go of them, but in the process Ive become numb.I dont know if its a good thing.Ive noticed myself less irritable. More in control of my emotions. I know life in this world is temporary and I shouldnt worry about petty things. But I cant help but feel as if it were me against the world> i have never felt apart of anything.
How do I release this attachment from carnality you ask? Just remember who you are as an eternal being. You are literally an inextricable part and parcel of The Alpha and The Omega. You are a critical manifest of Prime Source Itself.
Individuality, just as physicality, is a temporary illusion of the flesh, for this is it's inherent nature. We are 1 mind learning to cope with our own creative power. We are the same you and I. And we are on the exact same path of timeless evolution.
Your thoughts are what control your life, so I have to work on how I think and feel about myself and others, it's not always that simple but I do have faith and believe I will achieve this goal and be anxiety free.
It is not funny it is not fun and it is very uncomfortable and I can tell you that because I have social anxiety. Thanks so much for talking about this Harold a lot of people don't understand people that have anxiety problems. It is not a easy thing to get over and something I have dealt with my entire life.
You hit it right on the nail for me! I suffer from social anxiety and yes I do feel everyone is always talking or just examining my every move. I have missed a lot of Holidays, family celebrations because of this. I am happy to say I will be going for help a week from today, I can't keep doing this to myself or my family. Help is a good thing! Great topic, thanks again Harold! :)
I have some of that. But it's mostly around my family. If a person reminds me of family members it's bad to.But i can talk to some of my fave major league baseball players.Long story about that.I grew up with a former Baseball player. He was my hero.He actually has helped me with personal stuff. But being around normal every day people is a whole other story.
You know I've had a lot of social anxiety in my life. Not really afraid of what people think, but I guess I was more so afraid of doing something stupid or embarrassing, you know. Well the only way to get better is to face those fears. Like it took me a while before I posted any videos here, now I post a lot. And with the radio show I'm starting, hoping it turns into something good. Unfortunately you just have to do what you fear and be social and put yourself out there.
Awesome topic! Now i will watch! Social Anxiety sometimes it really is like that Harold here it is a very small SMALL town ppl have nothing better to do than tell each other things they hear wheather it be true or not. Panick Attacks come from mine.
Yeah I have that tendency to want to crawl into a cave and pull a blanket over my head and hide, but unfortunately you just have to put yourself out there to get better and lessen the anxiety. Or rather, the anxiety will still be high but you just have to do it anyway. You can't get anything out of life sitting on the sidelines. I know.
