  • the drummer is crazy at the end :o what a performance !!!

  • Love them to this day.. Yes the guitarist passed on a few years back. The music will never be forgotten though.

  • These guys truly rock. Strange their not mainstream enough...

  • u guys do know that the guitarist died in December of 2009 right?

  • @SkinCrawlofficial1 I thought it was the singer? But which ever it was, still ireplacable

  • absolutely exellent...

  • This is beast..

  • can i borrow a cloth there seems to be a red smudge on the like bar

  • Is he singing about Mothra the Kaiju? Or using Mothra as a metephor? I love the song!

  • love that eerie mysterious feel! and chads kick ass drum skills!

  • MUSLIMS

  • I saw this drummer live... Sickest display of musical expression I've ever seen.

  • The druming is very Danny Carey-esque

  • @gocubs1815 he stole danny carey's eulogy polyrhythm open hi-hat groove part in their song called "friends"

  • @gangsterthomas1000 they reformed under the name watership down Derek Parode is back on vocals also!!!

  • My fav part starts at 2:54.

  • Chad Kent (The Drummer) is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thumbs up if you agree with this!

  • @Drumming50god40Rev30 fuck yes his is..one of my favs by far!!

  • @Drumming50god40Rev30 couldnt agree more!!!!!

  • what is this song about really, im finding it hard to believe it's about the giant moth from the godzilla movies.

  • @mackaus1 this songs about someone killing therselves i think.

  • @chikendoodad ok that's a interesting perspective, but how did you figure that out, im just curious?

  • @mackaus1 the lyrics thats how i came up with that perspective of it, its kinda hard to explain honestly xD

  • @mackaus1 I actually believe, with no denial of chikendoodad's opinion, that it may actually have more to do with love as a battle. Dancing is considered a cousin of fighting because both involve strategy with an opponent. When they say that pure blood is dripping away they talk of innocence of love being lost because of war and how they thought it would prevail but it slipped away or died. Love tends to cause more pain and loss, whether intentional or not. Mothra battles for good...

  • 2 Dislikes...fair enough, I'm jealous of Chad Kent's skills too

  • chad kent is a drummer from somewhere far far off in left field. this guy is gnarly to watch live!

  • So TooL sounding. I like this better though. lol MOOOOOOTTTHHRRRAAAAA~~~~!!!

  • As a drummer, and a musician, and just a pure fan, this song, and mainly this band brings tears of happiness to my eyes.

  • This is a great song from a great band imo. :) They remind me a lot of Tool, another great band :P

  • @Ukent Tool isent just great, They are pretty gdamn legendary, Ive heard tool for two years now, And i still listen to them everyday...

  • @MegaWebinator Agreed

  • @Ukent Yeah which if you're good enough, it isnt any shame to be called followers of Tool

  • @cheezyandgreasy if you like tool you would like ISIS and cult of luna i think though they yell/shout more because it's post metal.. ISIS was out long before TOOl was though ;D

  • @BDean97 Yeah Isis sounds a lot like Tool, only more atmospheric. I don't think Cult of Luna sounds like Tool though. Karnivool and Cire are two other bands that sound like Tool, you should check them out (although they're not post-metal, more prog rock/metal).

  • @BDean97 Yeah, I'm not a Tool enthusiast, I kno there were alot of bands that were b4 Tool that had that Nu-metal sound or whatever. I personally am not into shouting or "Kill the family, Eat your face" music. I jus like gud musicaa

  • @cheezyandgreasy lol fair enough. I love the heavier stuff as well as stuff like this

  • @cheezyandgreasy Tool is not a "Kill the family, eat your face" band. And they're neither nu-metal, they don't shout much either. And for as far as I know, Tool have a pretty unique sound, inspiring this band for example :P

  • @Cystlib What? You repeated exactly what I just said. I LIKE Tool and I kno who they r I listen to them all the time. By not being a "Tool enthusiast" I meant I don't obsess over them but I like them alot. Yeah you can totallllyyyyyy see traces of Tool in this band, but no one believes meh :( haha

  • @cheezyandgreasy I misunderstood you then, I thought you meant you thought Tool was an agressive nu-metal band that shouted a lot and had a "kill the family" attitude.

  • @cheezyandgreasy Yeah it's the whole stoner rock sound to it and the fact that they wrote a song about a giant fake looking Japanese moth from the 60's Godzilla movies LOL. In my opinion the bass at 1:22 sounds A LOT like TooL.

  • This is one of my favorite bands along with Pantera, Metallica, and Tool

  • The original guitar player died in 2006, the remaining members are recording under Watership Down, they're original band name. Very impressive even as a trio. One of the most overlooked bands from the south.

  • AWESOME!

    MORE ALBUM PLEASE!

  • Beautiful.

  • @nintendo2006

go put this on a video reading poetry

  • Dude why comon why this band it was so good but i broke up one of the good ones that just couldnt stay i guess add it to the list (system of a down, sub, etc)

    R.I.P

    "Atomship"

  • 3:12 the drummer throws it down. Amazing album.

  • Joey Culver is the shit... too bad he left... and with the death of Nathan Slade, the band just doesn't have it anymore. Good thing this album never gets old for me.

  • @crazyscot77 They broke up after Joey left so idk why you're saying they "don't have it anymore"

  • this song is so amazing D: the drumming is INCREDIBLE, even orgasmic :S

  • My god... their drummer is ferocious.

  • @xJMan240x My thoughts exactly.

  • @xJMan240x It's insane.

  • @xJMan240x yeah, this dude is a really good drummer. this is definitely a record for a drummers' listening pleasure.

  • atomship is the best band

  • It's a shame people can't recognize true talent. >_> This guy has a mad unique voice and yet somehow Justin Bieber or however the bloody hell you spell his name is far more recognized... Shame shame. At least I have Atomship's album to stroke. :3

  • @BuddiBunni the singer here blows. Derek Pardoe is the man.

  • @BuddiBunni I agree, this singer is awesome. The good thing about the Bieber thing is that people won't even know who he is in 10 years. This music won't get old, his "music" will, as well as the rest of the crap on the radio.

  • sounds like a heavier porcupine tree. Love it!

  • Damn it! woaa nice song, cant stop hearing it

  • Who's Mothra?

  • @TheNintendoGalaxy ever heard of Mothra vs. Godzilla ?

  • @05832409 Yup! Mothra is one of the reoccurring characters in the TOHO Godzilla franchise. She has been known as Mothra, The Thing, and in GMK, Mothra : God of Water.

  • Wow .. its all i can say about this song .. just very unbelievable .. teh drummer kicks ass in this song .. the vocals were on point .. this song changes sooo much on different but yet awesome ways .. this band has one hell of a gift !

  • the drums on this song are siiiick :D

  • essa musica é boa o video ñ é la essas coisas

  • éeeeeee realmenta ñ sabia que a banda era boa!! essa musica então!!!

  • @

    JesseDAWest

lol yep, atleast there are a coupla good things that come from Ms. Well actually alot, when you think of music.

It still sucks butt living here.

    o.0

  • holy shit what a band!

Youve gotta listen to this song through headphones-incredible! Im in love with my Ipod buds again!

    Chad kicks ass!

  • It really hurts to know that they will never release a sophomore album. Nathan was a very creative guitarist and he will be missed. I just hope we get to hear more from Chad in the future. I will always hold The Crash of 47´ close to my heart.

  • wow i have only heard a few of their songs it took me forever to find them and figure out who they were i wanted to give the music to my uncle who works in a record label company

  • damn chad is badass.

im gonna jam with him soon :)

he lives right here in gulfport

  • how did nathan die?

  • i hear a resemblance to tool, is the guitarist dead? i did'nt know that, i found out about this band yesterday

  • man dont tell me this what happen to nathan?

  • Thank you for the replies that I got. And thank you Nathan Slade. You will be missed.

  • Love you Chad...you're awesome! :) RIP Nate...you are already missed by many!!

  • Fuck man, I wish they made more music.

    R.I.P Nathan

  • Atomship sounds like Disturbed about as much as Pink Floyd sounds like Pantera. No offense to your friend, but good lord, that's just asinine...

  • I recently showed this song to my friend who didn't like it. He said it sounded like Disturbed and got a few of his friends to agree with him. I could not disagree with him more. I was hoping that I could the opinions of some outside sources. If anyone would like to comment, let me know if you too think that there are aspects of Mothra or Atomship in general that resemble Disturbed, I would appreciate it very much.

  • i can hear a resemblance

  • This sounds nothing like Disturbed. It sounds a little like Tool or something.

  • haha the only thing sounding anything nearly like disturbed is the shouts somewhere in the beginnung... nothing else... somehow like tool a bit but aside from that they have a pretty fucking unique style... or had... didn't they even make another album as atomshipdown? only heard some other songs on myspace but they were nothing like crash of '47

and nathan is dead? i didn't know that... pretty bad event for music in general... he was awesome

  • @frostydragon Even after Nathan's death, they are back as Watership Down, look up Come Back

  • @vbooy57 Atomship Down Actually!! Watership Down Was THeir First Name , before the release and Recordings Of THe Album "crash Of 47" which is and their only one till now

  • @theatrikitehni If you'd look at Come Back, you'd see that they're Watership Down again.

  • chad kent is a beast on the drums

  • Best 1 album band. Ever.

  • Don't disagree...but Pist*On deserves an honorable mention

  • most underrated broken up band of all time ...... OMG !!! JIZZZ !!! lol

  • I came all over my computer.

  • hey this song is about the moth from godzilla XD haha not really but wow that was some epic fuckin drummin

  • I came.

  • @Ghlox and what a mess it was....

  • @Ghlox I came to hear this song. Moooooooooootthhhrrraaaaaaaaaaa~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Ghlox I'll join you in joy.

  • This song is just unbeleivable. It goes through such rapid changes, deffinately one of the best songs ive heard in a long time. This and Aliens are the best songs Atomship have done. Too bad they split up. You should check out Culvers new band "Papercut Massacre". They don't have the same heaviness and edge that Atomship had tho. Long live Mothra!!!!!!

  • the drumming in this song is unbelieviable, wow, i'm just in shock, the guitars and bass are pretty unique too & the vocals are pretty beast

  • yourmom416. Fuckin eh. I cry 2.

  • I think Chad's drumming career might wind up going down the same path as Mike Mangini. He has all the talent and skill in the world to do it.

Check out Mike Mangini Steve Vai drum solo

  • I saw them live before this CD came out and meet them once. I was so into them, then they just dissapeared. I miss them. This band was just so amazing.

  • As a drummer, 4:37-4:52 makes me cry. Because I know that I will never be as fast and still maintain the technicality that Chad Kent has.

  • That part was the single most insane thing that I have ever heard...

  • @yourmom416 just wanting to clear this out as well...i talked to the vocalist and he said chad (the drummer) did that in one take with no overdubbing...THAT is talent

  • They don't call him Superman for nothing. :P

  • @yourmom416 YES ! SICK MOMENT !

  • if you hate atomship go to funkin heIl u B!tch

  • Nathan's cool, I know where they live. They don't live too far from where I do, as in they live a couple roads down from my house.

  • Hell yeah Joey Culver is my brother and I went and seen them when they were Oklahoma City OK at the Coca Cola Center and I hungout with him and the band on the tour bus and it was cool

  • Lol, The Lead Singer Ish Mah Uncles Best Friend,& Hes Like A Member Of The Family.!

  • So sorry; I meant to click the 'thumbs-up' so it would remove the '-1', and I accidentally hit the wrong one. I'd take it back if I could.

  • Awesome!

  • Joey Culver, singer from Atomship has formed a new band called Papercut Massacre. No one will ever sound like Atomship, they were a once in a lifetime band, awesome.

  • and joey stole a couple of nates new songs like "in the middle" and such. Nathans my brother.

  • Without a doubt the best band to come out of the coast.

  • idk how this band hasnt made it big time

  • Maybe because they broke up

  • They broke up because they didn't make it big time. Lawlz.

  • actually they were on windup records and did a supporting tour with evanscence when they were really big at the time. They just didnt release a second album because nathan and chad quit. It was amazing seeing them in concert and even better to know you're from the same area as them!! derek (the original writer) is cool as shit too, fun to record with!

  • awesome song i love it!

  • its about time someone put this song on here, nice!

  • best band out of so miss screw 3dd

  • this is bad ass!!!
