And still the Looks & design of this Tower is Miles ahead of most PC's Today.

It just doesn't seem this came out 10 years ago. I remember in 7th Grade when my School was transitioning from the old Performa 6400's & replacing them with iMac G3's and these PowerMac G3's. Everyone liked them. Even all the teachers were Given Clamshell iBooks, & some PowerBooks. The School was Strictly Mac.

I guess speed isn't everything. It's the charm of this particular G3 that makes it my favorite Macs. It's the only one that is colored in blue, has translucent side panels with big G3 embossed on the inner casing. It's sexy.

The hard disk controller on mine died. So now it's on external Firewire harddisk.

You could always do an upgrade I guess. I was thinking of adding a combination USB2/EIDE card so mine could take larger disks... Still haven't gotten around to that, but it may happen.

Then again, at this point, I might as well go with SATA instead...

I'm reluctant to add a card as the hardware is so old it just might not take full advantage of the add-on. Do remember this G3 support up to 128GB of disk space only even if your harddisk is of bigger capacity. So who knows if USB2 is too quick for it. :D

Well, the 128GB limit is why I was thinking of adding an EIDE or SATA upgrade card. Though at this point my dual G4 (bought at a surplus sale for $5- no joke!) may get it instead if I ever do that sort of thing. I'm reasonably sure the G3 can keep up with USB2 though- even FireWire 400 is faster in real world scenarios, and it came with that, so...

Computers were not built to play games they were made for work, you could play games on it but thats not what a computer was meant for. Games are not the most important thing on a computer.
