Locomotive 01.1066 has three cylinders, and the other 01.1533-7 has two cylinders. I like very much the sequence of the departure (10:05), when the different chuffing tempos of the two 01 locomotives are perfectly heard.

@xy47402 Greetings from Europe! Thanks for the compliment. That's an interesting technical question. My guess is they had enough power with those locomotives and they could leave the drains open a little.

@Transalpin76 I think it may have to do with running uphill with the maximum filling of the cylinders.

@xy47402 the drain valves are probably simply leaking a bit and it looks more than it is beacause of the cold weather. Some engines are also equipped with cylinder-safety valves to prevent damage in case of priming (carrying water over to the cylinders) maybe the springs of these valves are not tight enough
